I read somewhere that close to 30% od the mail orders were either "lost" (which means genuinely lost, stolen, or just not delivered for various reasons) in the logistics chain or returned, in which case they are are most often not opened but sent to the same guys who collect the "lost" parcels.

Some guys have created a business buying by weight the "lost" parcels and reselling them unopened to people (they make a bet about the content) who then open the parcels and put the items on sale. and they all make a lot of money.

I also heard that last year the parcels arriving in Europe from China, to individuals, were numbering to 800 millions ...

Losing one's coveted item ordered abroad sucks, but it seems more than usual ...

Super Hobby replied back that they will issue the refund once their carrier (Polands postal system) notifies them it was lost.  “Be patient” was her reply.  I forwarded her the pic I posted here.

It seems crazy that the vendor should be the one issuing the refund when its our postal service that lost the package.

I have received packages that were badly damaged delivered by our postal service.....All I got was an " Oh Well" from the carrier.

Amazon?  The same,  but Amazon will issue the refund, at least. Just what, exactly "We Care" mean.....An empty statement at best.

The sender contracts with the carrier, not the recipient.  I’m selling off kits I’ll never build on eBay right now. If one gets lost by USPS, it’s on me to collect the insurance because I paid for the service.  My CH-53 sold for well over $100 and I paid an extra $2-$3 for full insurance.
But I’m only going to be patient for so long before I put in a claim with PayPal.
