JohnB Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I pulled this one off the shelf just to have something to stay busy with during the current weather of snow/ice/sleet. Most things here have come to a screeching halt due to the weather. I have a large accumulation on my property and it's COLD (forecast low tonight 7 degrees).  Uh oh!!!  🤪 I'm finding too many fit problems and I don't need the headache! SOD time. I'll find something else to work on.   3

I'll be glad when it's all gone Kevin! LOL I may get back on the Skyraider at some point but for now it'll stay on the SOD. 2
BlrwestSiR Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Having only done the ZM Spad, I'm curious what the challenges are with the Trumpy one? As for the snow, we just got hit with 61 cm of the fluffy white stuff. Kids got a snow day today so they're making the most of it. Carl 2

Lots of fitting and re-fitting and never getting anything, especially the exhausts, to fit. The cockpit, etc was ok. I didn't want to keep fighting the engine assembly so it was to the SOD. Kids love snow for sure. 2
belugawhaleman Posted January 27 Posted January 27 I would like to build a skyraider myself . i have the Tamiya 1/48 model. I've been kind of dormant myself. The weather is bad here. We had to replace Mom's furnace a week ago...got it done in time for the cold weather, but we had to rely on space heaters for a Couple of days....it was dicey, but like I said, we got it done. I've been staying with her to make sure she's safe and to take her to doctor's appointments (2) . I've been trying to do a little work on the Bradley ODS while at her house. John, I would like to see you Build the Skyraider😀 Oh, been feeding some very cold Squirrels. 2

John, I would like to see you Build the Skyraider😀 Oh, been feeding some very cold Squirrels. I've stayed holed up in my house since Saturday trying to stay warm. Good "model building" weather and fortunately the power has stayed on. I was really sweating that out! The low last night was supposed to be 10 degrees but it's warming up to the 40's this afternoon. I've built 2 Skyraiders, both ZM, and they turned out nice. 5

JohnB Posted February 11 Author Posted February 11 I decided to rescue this one from the SOD and see about finishing it (high cuss-factor and all). I've made good progress but attaching the wings has proved to be a real hassle. I came close to returning it to the SOD a couple of times! LOL At any rate, I intend to finish it. 🙂 4
KevinM Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Finish it John even now we all still learn something even if it is a new word. 3
