Wingco57 Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 What a nice mess. I must say those slimmer nacelles do look the part.Cees 1
One-Oh-Four Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Are you planning on somehow correcting the "hood"?
benjaminsummerfield Posted June 27, 2014 Author Posted June 27, 2014 Are you planning on somehow correcting the "hood"? What's the issue with it? Too Late now really.
Steve Scanlon Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Looking great, I finally succumbed to this last night whilst in the hobby store.
benjaminsummerfield Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 Looking great, I finally succumbed to this last night whilst in the hobby store. Hurray! You won't be disappointed.
benjaminsummerfield Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 I've now given it a wash with Paynes grey Oil paint, a little bit of weathering and then it will get a final coat of Alclad light sheen before final assembly.
Wingco57 Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Getting there. What's your opinion about the stencils? Cees
benjaminsummerfield Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 Getting there. What's your opinion about the stencils? Cees To be fair to Kitsworld they went on very well, they've missed a couple that can be made out in photos, like ones on top of the engine nacelles. Their walk ways gave me a bit of trouble though as they've printed them as a whole piece with a huge bit of carrier film in the middle so I used the kit ones which were tricky to put it politely!!
mgbgtv8steve Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 A really great looking model which reflects the time and attention to detail you've poured into it. Well done! Perhaps now you can give the Mini rebuild as much time and attention!!
One-Oh-Four Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 What's the issue with it? Too Late now really. The canopy is too low, too wide or both. It should look like this: Anyhow, your progress looks great!!
benjaminsummerfield Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 The canopy is too low, too wide or both. It should look like this: Anyhow, your progress looks great!! I think it'd be beyond me to fix that, the hood does seem a little square in its cross section, I don't think the windscreen is quite right either, Fisher have sorted that in their F8 conversion 99% finished. Tad more weathering to do and it's compete.
RalphSarc Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Absolutely stunning workmanship!! That is just beautiful canopy and all!! 1
benjaminsummerfield Posted August 28, 2014 Author Posted August 28, 2014 I realised i hadn't posted any proper pictures of the finished kit! Thread here http://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/2911-hk-132-gloster-meteor-f4-609sqn-raf/
