PTW6187
Well all the time I was down with the Oklahoma crud, thanks to my youngest grand daughter, I fore went the P-51 GB Pacific thingy and began work on this. Not one of my best and I know I could have done better but I am happy with it. This is the first model I have ever tried oil washes on and I think I kind of like it. I also tried a white balance adjustment on my camera to see if it would make it look any more realistic. Let me know what you think. I used a mix of MM acrylic aluminum, silver and Vallejo chrome. Thanks for looking in Cheers, Paul

rkranias
great job on this Paul. love the finish on your first effort using washes...nothing like trying something new with success. Take what you learned and move forward to the next level...continued success working out of your comfort zone. BTW Love the nose art. Slick Chick is currently in my WIP. Hope to finish in a few weeks. Currently working on the bazookas and engine detail. Fuselage/wings all buttoned up and filled. What decals Zoltz or Kits World? I really like them a bunch I just wish they would include insignias as well. On e of these days Ill wind up doing a super detail job but until then Ill just stick to these types of builds. I am using EagleCals #107 for the national insignia on Slick Chick. "one of these days..." yeah famous last words! That was my mantra when I returned to this hobby in '12. Then one little enhancement upgrade lead to another. I have drank the Kool-Aid, now I'm doing all sorts of stuff I thought I'd never do. It's always a learning curve, always a work in progress...always enjoyable. have fun Paul and look forward to your next build.
