NigelR32
OMG Peter!! You really are one of the best modellers there is!! Talk about "in at the deep end"!!
RalphSarc
Holy cow!!! Can't get over your level of modelling. I bought a Edward cockpit instrument kit for my JU88 build and just started grinding the per-molded instruments off the panels allowing me to install the self-adhesive brass parts. It's nerve racking but my confidence is growing stronger with each grind and I figure paint will cover a multitude of sins, lol!!
airscale
evening ladies... been a while since I have had any time at the bench (as I have been working on a real beauty decal set for the new 1/24 Airfix Typhoon..) but today got a little bit done.. ...can't believe it's a month since my last post - where does the time go? ...anyways..I had made some of the sidewall instrument panels and wanted to get the instruments kinda lined up now while they were still flat - so a scrap bit of card was used with the appropriate Luftwaffe 1/32 dials... ..then built it up into the console found in my references... ..also built up the sidewall and other areas... ..and a dry fit to get the depth right... ..I used some stiff brass as the basis for the upper panel above the pull-down seat... ..and again laid out the correct instruments to match my references.. ..after carefully glazing the panels I had an assembly I was happy with... ..and another dry-fit - still got more glazing & work to do.. ..next up the fold down seat... until then TTFN Peter
Members Mikester
Excellent, Peter! Are you using the bezels that you produce on this?
rkranias
this is great work. cutting the pit fuselage in half is a brilliant idea and is paying huge dividends. how did you create the images of the dials? it appears you made a copy and placed on the plastic card as a template then used a punch to create the "holes". really enjoy watching your scratch efforts on this. its educational and inspirational. I have done some scratch IP work on my latest effort and I may have been hooked on improving my skill-sets in this medium.

airscale
Excellent, Peter! Are you using the bezels that you produce on this? thanks for dropping in Mike - yep everything you see is from our bezel or detail sets - I just use seconds that got bent or have something that means they are not good enough to retail how did you create the images of the dials? it appears you made a copy and placed on the plastic card as a template then used a punch to create the "holes". hi Rick - thanks for asking - I have a little process as described below - helps with design & scaling if you have no accurate kit parts to go from.. Wow that looks incredible!!! I can't wait to master that degree of craftsmanship! Very kind! thanks Ralph - your '88 is looking mighty fine TTFN Peter
