Steve Scanlon Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Not been very active on the model front for a while but sat down and put this one together, it is Trumpeters 1/35 scale and was a great kit do build, Thanks for looking. 6
Paulster Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 A lot of those Trumpeter kits are a great way to get back into or start building armor.
Steve Scanlon Posted April 17, 2014 Author Posted April 17, 2014 Thanks guys, I really like Trumpeters newer kits especially the Russian stuff and have a few in my stash.
One-Oh-Four Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Great looking model, Steve! I particularly like the way you weathered that basically boring scheme to something that is pleasing to look at and makes one want to keep looking and discover new details! Also the semi-matt gives a very good effect as I Always had the idea from Intel-photos that these vehicles were quite glossy to begin with.
Steve Scanlon Posted April 18, 2014 Author Posted April 18, 2014 Thanks Erik, I agree it has always been the habit to matt them down but when you see pics. such as those from the Crimea, the vehicles are satin looking in their finish, sure enough as the layers of grime and dust accumulate they start to look matt, so I gave it several washes on top of the usual gloss coat and it brought the finish down to this satin look. 1
