RalphSarc
Continuing to work on the wings. So far so good. Fit continues to be good with a slight amount of filling to do around the engine nacelle. Starboard wind ready for assembly. Port wing almost complete. Once it is I'll begin painting and detailing the landing gear. The large cowling behind the landing gear has been left unglued to facilitate painting of the gear etc.
kahunaminor
Ralph, I think you are slowing down. It's been 48 hours and you haven't finished yet? At the lightning pace you are setting it should be done in a week? No? I jest, great stuff. It is a pity Revell moulded the landing gear doors closed but I think they did so while the aircraft was in the ground anyway. You can always open them up but then you have to detail them. I think the MLG look really good in the natural state and will only look better under paint. I don't think you will be hiding any mistakes there! colt6
As I see your 88 comes together, I looking forward to build mine!! What I don't understand is: why no one makes nice Jumos for this plane, I think it would looking grat with the nacelles open Arno

Being retired gives me lots of bench time between gardening, volunteering at our local hospital and working my part time job from home! I usually alot time in the evenings for modeling however I can't pass up a nice day on the deck to sit and build :-) I have eight other models in my stash so have plenty to keep me busy for a few weeks, lol!!! It would be so cool to have two detail Jumo engines detailed with cowlings opened!!! It's funny that with all the aftermarket stuff available engines haven't been added to the list! Oh well maybe some day!! Ralph
lawman56
Ralph, check this site out. http://www.planet.eon.net/~engthg/ No pics, but they have a downloadable pdf catalog that seems to have every engine, of every country, in every scale known to man! I've seen a few reviews on the net and they've all been very positive. From the few pics I've also seen, they appear to exceptionally accurate and well detailed.

I sent an email to inquire about their 48025 Junkers Jumo 211 V-12 inline inverted for Ju-87,-88A l-17, C. I'll see what response I get.
kahunaminor
Hi Ralph, I think 32035 would the correct one as I read 48025 as being 48th scale! Kent

Here's the picture of the 1/32 scale Jumo 12V inverted engine and the email I received back from Linda. Looks pretty good for those who might be considering an engine conversion for there Ju88 build. The engines cost $24.00 each plus shipping. The link above has their email address attached. Hi Ralph: Attached is the catalogue and picture of 32035. Thanks for the inquiry. lawman56
Wow! There's a whole lotta potential in that...... I've got an idea for a future P-38 getting an Allison change out planned. I know where I'll be getting the motor.....
RalphSarc
They look very well detailed. I would defiantly consider them in the future. My skill level is not up to adding engines to my Ju88 but something to keep in mind!

I think the same, with this you just have the engine, but you will need the mount and so on And scratch building is something I have first to learn

RalphSarc
Painted, weathered and chipped the port landing gear. First attempt at running brake line tubing and fashioning band clamps. Think I should have put a "U" shape in the line adjacent to the strut boot now that I think of it. I'll try that on the starboard strut so don't tell anyone if you notice the difference, lol! Also started the assembly of the starboard landing gear and wing.

RalphSarc
Both wings are assembled and getting ready to detail the starboard landing gear. Once that's done I have a bit of sanding to do on the leading edges and engine nacelle and then it will be safe to prime the wings. Hopefully I'll have time this weekend to assemble to engine cowlings. Port landing gear. Starboard Landing gear
RalphSarc
Beth and I had an enjoyable morning at our local farmers market. Bought a raspberry plant, pussy willow bush and a sack of sweet Vidalia Onions for $5.00 each. Spent the rest of the day gardening and BBQing on the deck. Made a little progress today by finishing the sanding, buffing and priming of both wings. Also started the engine nacelles!
