Latest project is a American Heavy tank T30/34

I will be building the T34 version and i will be using the plan camouflage scheme. I will also be trying weathering powder to put on the lower hull, tracks and on some other areas. i will also be putting weathering on parts like exhausts and gun muzzle.

Suspension arms have been painted, filed and cemented into position now just have to leave it to set over night and then touch up all the scratched pain

Ok I'm back and just glued half of the road wheels together and have to paint the edges black. Just checked they fit properly. Wondering wether to touchup the scratched paint or weather it like the hull?? Any suggestions welcome

So painting wheels can be rather difficult I have found a good way to do it with the tank road wheels

I paint them first the black on the outside and the green on the inside but it overlaps and makes a mess so paint the black again so it's clean and then wrap it with painting tape and paint the inner wheel. Also made a small tool from a cocktail stick and some tape to hold them easilyIMG_20180604_220213.thumb.jpg.6b884f0ba312029220972ad6013613cf.jpgbefore wrapping the green is visibly badIMG_20180604_220208.thumb.jpg.247ff2f6fa4024dbfa69bf3e819adec1.jpgdurighn pantingIMG_20180604_220244.thumb.jpg.78041015e6afd5894c0ef4001bc7e82f.jpgafter my proses

Update

I have painted some parts touched up some parts and prepaid the track guard sides by removing bits left from casting.

Also removed small marks from the edging of the drive wheel mounts

Ok so I'm back working on the tank now. Most of the tracks are painted and have some weathering. And painting some of the main hull and track guard components.

That is when the AirBrush decides it wants to work properly.

I like your table cloth.

Do you like the link'n'length tracks or would you have preferred all individual links? They certainly save time and aren't as tedious but for German tanks you lose the ability to set your own sag -- and all I build is German.

I've only built Takom's 12.8cm twin flak gun, which was an early kit with some fit issues but I have a couple of tanks in the stash that are more recent. How is this kit comparing to other brands you may have built if you are able to rate it yet?

Not sure. If the tracks were link and pin I would prefer it. Rubber tracks that are one piece that fits around the wheels and then links back up. They are fine but often pull on the wheels and pull the in and off from my experience. My first time using this type of track so I will let you know. If I remember.
