Grant Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Gosh that's nice Jeff - so glad to see you did it in the military format and not the recent comic book edition. It looks so futuristic given it's vintage ! Excellent.
Administrators James H Posted April 24, 2013 Administrators Posted April 24, 2013 That looks great Jeff. How did you find the build?
PAnderson Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Awesome build. Looks like some great detail in those ZM kits. Paul
nmayhew Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Wow and wow! First the rarity of actually seeing one of these babies finished And second wow for the quality of the finish! Looks stunning!!
Members Mikester Posted April 25, 2013 Members Posted April 25, 2013 Excellent work Jeff, came out great!
Jeff C Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 Thanks for all the kind words. I started this when it first came out. Built the engine (added some plumbing and such) then the next 'new' kit came along and I put it aside. Pick it up again about a month ago or so and finished it off. I have built their Ta-152 and fit wise it was a little better than the J7W1. Nothing bad mind you but just a few shims here and there and some filler where the bottom wing meets the fuselage. I have another one that I made a trade for (painted a 1/72 KC-135 for a friend of mine) that I will do the jet version with.
Daywalker Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Really nice work, love the shade you used for the propeller blades. Can I ask what color you used for these?
