Lothar
What is needed to build a LS Polish F-16? I know they're Block 52 aircraft with the P&W powerplant. What about the intake, small or large and what about the tyres and the wheel well cover? I guess my starting point needs to be the Tamiya F-16CJ Block 50, which I'm afraid doesn't have the parts for a Block 52. What aftermarket bits and pieces do I need to get? Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks, unfortunately I don't know too much about F-16s and need to be educated. A short exchange with Ernie about the twin seater triggered the desire to build a single seater in Tiger Meet marking. Lothar
BlrwestSiR
GT Resin makes a small mouth intake for the Tamiya kit. I'm using that for my Polish F-16 build. You also need a parapack tail. PWMP makes a specific one for the Tamiya kit or you can try to find someone's leftover one from their Academy build. That being said, I found it easier to splice the PWMP tail into the kit one as I found it created a better overall fit. That's as far as I've gotten on my build. Those are the Model Maker stencils. The stock landing gear is fine from my understanding which would be the biggest hurdle. I'll have to double check that though. Carl 1
1to1scale
I believe the academy F-16 has all the parts needed to build a block 40/42/50/52. I think it’s a better candidate than Tamiya, as the Tamiya is a 50 only. Check out this review, it details the parts needed and included. http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/aca/kit_aca_12101.shtml 1

I also found it easier to splice it onto the kit part rather than using the entire resin piece. It's easily done and gives a nice result. I'm not sure how JP van Regenmortel operates now, I think I emailed him directly back when I ordered mine.
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted April 16, 2020 Administrators Share Posted April 16, 2020 My two seater will be the Academy kit of course, and I'm going to probably use the GT mouth for it, simply because of very minor shape issues. Add a couple of seats, and I should be good to go. From what everyone's said, a seat is a very good idea on the Tamiya kit as well. Just so much better detail in resin compared to plastic and it's an amazingly prominent part on the F-16. Smitty's a very knowlegeable F-16 guy. That I know.
BlrwestSiR
Ernie, check out the Zacto Models intake for the Academy kit. It's very nicely done. He has both big and small mouth intakes. Carl
1to1scale
I’m not sure of the timeline on this, but the Academy SUFA is being reboxed with new parts and decals that ncludes a polish version. Edit: I guess after researching, this appeared to be a Local Turkish release for their market and was pretty expensive for the Academy SUFA with new PE and decal sheet. I tried to look at their website, but I can’t read anything on it.
