Here are some pictures for you to look at. side view showing the color scheme and over all size. side view with the hood open. front isometric view. rear isometric view. top isometric view showing the tri-axle fenders. this view shows the radiator, engine and transmission in there preliminary stage. this view shows the grill mesh and Peterbilt emblems. this view shows the rivets on the hood, the air cleaner and the chrome door surround. front isometric view showing the tractor and the 3 axle trailer. rear isometric view showing the tractor and the 3 axle trailer. Jeff Posted September 5, 2020 Share Posted September 5, 2020 That is one LOOONG tractor, up here in BC that would be only on the highways, never up the mountains hauling an excavator or feller-buncher or a Cat..... there would be no where for them to turn that beauty around.... even at that, knowing some of our logging roads and areas our guys haul stuff, I still wonder how they get up the switch backs and get turned..... CrankyCrafstman Posted September 8, 2020 Share Posted September 8, 2020 Hey all Here is a picture of the Pete 359, 3 axle trailer and 336 excavator. Here is a picture of the Pete 359, 4 axle trailer and a ALL NEW! Cat 390FL on it... my God this thing is HUGE! It doesn't even fit on the 4 axle trailer even with the outriggers out! Guess I have to design a bigger trailer. Here are some pictures of the Cat 390FL. this view shows it in the bucket on the ground position. I got this 3D model off of the internet from GrabCad. (Free download) It needs a lot of work to finish it up, it's missing a lot of stuff. this view shows it in the load position, but to actually ship this on my 4 axle trailer you would have to remove the stick and bucket. In this configuration it's 20' 6" from the ground to the highest point of the boom arm and that's a little to tall. Here are some pics of the Cat 390FL and the Cat 336 next to each other for comparison. front isometric view of both excavators. rear isometric view of the excavators. side view of the excavators. front view of the excavators. rear view of the excavators. top view of the excavators. You can really see the differences between the two. The 390 is the largest mass excavator that Caterpillar makes and the 336 is a middle sized large excavator. It's a Rogers 3 X 3 X 3 drop nose lowboy trailer 70 to 90 ton capacity! I think this will be big enough to haul the Cat 390FL and the D11T! front isometric view. rear isometric view. side view, she sure is lloooonnnggg!!! It has a 3 axle jeep and a 3 axle stinger. top view. It's only in the preliminary stages right know, but I'm working on it. Well that's it for now be back with more updates soon. CrankyCrafstman Posted July 14, 2021 Share Posted July 14, 2021 Hey all I found this on YouTube. It's a 1/16 scale XL Specialized XL120 drop nose lowboy trailer from Diecast Masters. They are making it for there 1/16 scale RC Freightliner Cascadia truck. I've contacted them via email and they said it is definitely coming out. It will be available in China in October and probably available for pre-order for Christmas 2021. I plan on using this for my 1/16 Monogram Peterbilt 359 and my 1/16 Monogram Kenworth W900L 4 axle Heavy haul (this will be my next build after the Pete) this view is pulled from YouTube of the prototype of the trailer, that's their 1/16 scale blue RC Freightliner Cascadia in the upper right. this view shows the front of the trailer. this view shows the rear of the trailer. this view shows their 1/50 scale XL120 diecast trailer. This is what they used for up scaling to 1/16. I'm not sure if this is going to be metal or some sort of plastic, but I'm assuming it will be plastic, as thats what they make their RC models from. I have a Bruder 1/16 scale Cat 336 excavator to put on it for a load. this is the Kenworth W900L model I will be modifying with a stretched frame, 12R/24.5 drive tires, 385R55/22.5 supersingles for the lift axle and 385R65/24.5 front floats. I'll be using the Cat 3408 V8 engine from the kit fully plumbed. Not sure how far I will be going on this, I'll see after I get the Peterbilt done. I will be doing a build thread on this.
