Haven’t used homemade sprue glue to fill a gap in a long while. The joys of scale aircraft building. -

Finished gluing the two fuselage halves with minimal filling applied and also completed step 6 assembling and installing the forward cannons and what I believe is the underbelly shell casing exiting slot panels. -

Thanks Martin I’m looking forward to building it even with its challenges. Should finish nicely. -

Since this is 1/48 scale I saw no sense in adding all the PE cockpit detail. I’ll use my acrylic markers to highlight switches etc that will be seen. Glad I have all my super cool clamps!! -
Yeah the guy that bought the lion share of mine was planning on selling them at a flea market. He and his wife were kind of a seedy couple but he got a good deal and I made what I thought was a fair profits. My new man cave limits me to 1/35 and 1/48 builds plus I slowed a bit too!!

Mail Call: Purchased a set of 1/35 Tamiya Sand Bag to mount on the front of my Easy Eight build. Question: Has anyone used hot water to soften the bags to contour to armor hulls? Actually anyone can chime it with a suggestion?

Well I’ve built a lot of kits in my scale modeling career however I have to say this without a doubt is the absolute worst I’ve ever built. Okay I admit I’m use to building Tamiya and Takom kits. Revell will never compare with their engineering standards……but come on!!!! Since I’m limited in space to building 1/48 aircraft all future builds will be Tamiya kits!!! This is junk but I will persevere!!!

Thanks Fran. Always nice to be back with friends.

Thanks so much!! It’s been quite the adjustment but I’m settling in well.

Unfortunately that Momogram 1/48 Me410 kit is not what I expected it to be!! The cockpit is ill fitting and the instructions are very vague. I mean it’s not a bad kit, it’s just not a Tamiya kit, lol!!! I’ll suffer through it I guess, lol!!!

Nice to hear from you Kevin. Yeah it’s been a busy and sometimes hectic few months but the house closes tomorrow and after that we’re planning a trip to Canada to renew my passport. Once that’s done will visit friends in Kingston Ontario and Vermont before attending one of Carol’s family event in Maine!! Here’s a picture of my current stash. I’m down to build a few buy a few. I’ll let Amazon and HobbyTown USA store my stash until I need a kit, lol!!!

Oh thanks for the welcome. I’m rather enjoying this new adventure. We’ve had the RV to Cape Charles twice now stopping to overnight at Mobjack Brewery in Hayes Va. Also been to visit friends in Weyers Cave.

Oh thanks. It’s been to long!!

Hi Everyone! Sorry for my long absence!! A visit to my favorite scale modeling site is long overdue. I’ve had an extremely busy spring!! I’ve finally sold my home in Woodstock GA and Carol and I have taken up permanent residency at her condo in Richmond VA. I endeared an estate sale of most of my belongings except for some cherished antiques and family memorabilia. My 150 finished builds sold to a collector as did my 100+ kit stash. I did keep a few! On the travel front we visited Portugal and Spain just before Christmas and then enjoyed Christmas here in Richmond. I’ve slowly built up my new man cave and bench area and have completed a Tamiya 1/35 Tiger 1, a Tamiya 1/35 Panther and I’m presently building a Tamiya 1/35 Easy Eight Sherman. So that’s it from here. Hope all is well with everyone? Ralph

Really great actually. That what I used before the AK stuff.

Thanks Rob for your kind heads up. I’ve actually used a product similar to this for years with great success doing all sorts of camouflage patterns. Unfortunately I’ve return to Richmond for the holidays and forgot my can in Woodstock. I do love how it flattens itself in the can after use, lol!!

Definitely will. It’s a beautifully detailed engine. Even has decals!!!

Lovely job on the motor. I’m getting ready to build up my 1/16 motor.
