Revell 1/32 Arado Ar196A-3
RalphSarc replied to RalphSarc's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
Thanks everyone for the kind comments. They are greatly appreciated. I took artistic license with the scheme but liked the scheme of the B variant! -
Who cares, lol!!!

Little bit of progress, lol!!! Coated the wing and fuselage top with Flory Dark Dirt Wash to highlight the panel lines show a bit of wear/use! I'll remove the excess amount after it dries and then seal with Kleer. After that it's decals and installing all the small bits like radar antennas etc.

Wow very cool!!! -
Nicely done. I have the good old Revell kit waiting to hit the assembly line that looks like a pretty fair kit.

Completed steps 5 and 6. Assembled the main gear wheel well, engine pods and the upper and lower wing halves.

Yep!

Fuselage halves fit like a glove!! Very minimal seam work needed!!

Probably without but may consider installing them as they are pretty well detailed figures.

Completed step 1 and 2 using the molded die-cast cockpit tub/nose weight! Very nice touch in Tamiya's favor!! Primed the die-cast cockpit tub and nose gear wheel well plus the interior of the fuselage.

1/48 Tamiya He219A-7 UHU "Eagle-Owl" Kit manufacture: Tamiya Scale : 1/48 Type: Nightfighter Extras: OOB Paints: Tamiya, Vallejo, Mig Weathering: Vallejo, Flory, AK, and Uschi The Heinkel He 219 Uhu ("Eagle-Owl") was a night fighter that served with the German Luftwaffe in the later stages of World War II. A relatively sophisticated design, the He 219 possessed a variety of innovations, including an advanced VHF-band intercept radar; itself also used on the Ju 88G and Bf 110G night fighters. It was also the first operational military aircraft in the world to be equipped with ejection seats, and the first operational German World War II-era aircraft with tricycle landing gear. Had the Uhu been available in quantity, it might have had a significant effect on the strategic night bombing offensive of the Royal Air Force; but only 294 of all models were built by the end of the war, and these saw only limited service. 1/48 Tamiya Mosquito B Mk IV in captured markings

Really sweet build and I love the captured scheme. The colors are striking to say the least!! -
Looks like a 1/32 Metal Earth kit, lol!! If it goes together like a Metal Earth kit it should be a fabulous kit! Great review by the way!

Yea I really like the Vallejo Metal Colors. I haven't had any experience with other products like AK etc but I found the Vallejo sprayed neat very well although I had to up my air pressure. It also masks/tapes well with no peel back, discoloring, marking etc. Oh and it smells good, lol!! The black Vallejo Metal Color Black Primer worked very well also going on smoothly and evenly! I have the primary AK Extreme Metal Aluminum Colors but waiting for their high gloss black primer I ordered to arrive. I look forward to trying the AK and comparing it with the Vallejo. At this paint the Vallejo would be my go to metal paint.
