  1. Thanks. Yeah the 1/35 Tamiya half tracks have lots of possibilities. I have all four!
  2. Actually I’ve been very busy. First and foremost I got married after a two year courtship! Plus I sold my Class B RV and finally jumped in and purchased a lightly used 2016 Fleetwood Flair 29T which we’ve been enjoying along with riding our eBikes. We’ve headed to Portugal for a two week river cruise on October 27th. Sadly it’s been difficult to find any bench time however things have settled down a bit allowing me to start my Das Werk build so stay tuned, lol!!
  3. Das Werk 1/16 Sd. Kfz..251/1 Aust.D German Halftrack build thread. (Started 10-17-2024) The Sd. Kfz. 251/1 Ausf.D is a German armored half-track infantry fighting vehicle from World War II.It was designed by Hanomag to transport German mechanized infantry into battle. It was based on the unarmored Sd. Kfz. 11 half-track vehicle and was the most widely produced German half-track of the war, with at least 15,252 vehicles and variants produced by seven manufacturers. The Sd. Kfz. 251 was designed to be fast, inexpensive to produce, and able to navigate a variety of rough terrains. German and Allied soldiers commonly referred to the Sd. Kfz. 251 as "Hanomags" after the manufacturer! Enjoy the build!
  4. Indeed it does. I had fun building it.
  5. Finished my Tamiya 1/35 US M16 Multipule Gun Motor Carriage today. Had fun assembling it however the decal disintegrated while being installed. Luckily I had extra WWII US decals that suited the build! Tamiya produces four M16 variants to choose from and I’d highly recommended any of them.
  6. Holy smokes that’s a lot of spruce bags!!! First ever 1/16 build. Should be fun!
  7. Very glad I purchased these air brush cleaning brushes years ago because someone let Stynylrez in his airbrush for a week!!! Finally after several hours of cleaning it’s spraying again!!!
  8. Lord I hate it, lol!!! I’m not at the museum skill set that I’d consider scribing all the detail back!! That’s why I love the Dark Side!!! Cover it with mud and no one knows the difference!!
  9. Priming with Stynylrez to reveal a bit more seam work!! Did I say I hate seam work???
  10. Thanks Martin!! Greatly appreciated!
  11. Oh you got to try it!! Virtually no sanding as it cleans up with a cotton swab and warm water. It’s nirvana, lol!!$
  12. I love Perfect Putty!!!
  13. Yeah it has a lot of possibilities!
  14. I agree. I have an old Monogram 1/48 F-84F kit that I’m itching to build!!
  15. Oh thanks. I have all three of the Tamiya 1/35 M16 variants with the quad mount being my favorite. I’ll most likely build the other two at some point. The quad has been a great kit. Highly recommend it.
  16. Installed and masked the windshield plus attached the front cab to the chassis. Also sprayed a coat of XF-51 (Khaki Drab).
  17. Yeah it’s an oldie but goodie kit that’s for sure. Really soft plastic and there’s a sticker inside one of the fuselage halves that says made in Poland!! Also very little detail but should paint up nicely and look nice hanging on the wall.
  18. I’m planning on this Canadian paint scheme. Thanks concerning the RV. We’re enjoying our retirement and summers cruising in the RV. This summer we’re visiting the Great Lakes. Definitely cooler than Atlanta’s summer temperatures!
  19. Completed steps 2, 3, 10 and 13! Now it looks like a 104!!! Time to return to step 4 and start the gear build up. Plus filling the dreaded fuselage seams!! Lord I hate that!!!
  20. On your mark, get set………..go!! Very rudimentary offering of a CF-104G. Really soft plastic and a whole two spruce, lol!!! Oh well I’ll throw a bit of detail in the cockpit you’ll never see and carry on. Should be a quick build!!
