  1. Nice to hear from you Kevin. Yeah it’s been a busy and sometimes hectic few months but the house closes tomorrow and after that we’re planning a trip to Canada to renew my passport. Once that’s done will visit friends in Kingston Ontario and Vermont before attending one of Carol’s family event in Maine!! Here’s a picture of my current stash. I’m down to build a few buy a few. I’ll let Amazon and HobbyTown USA store my stash until I need a kit, lol!!!
  2. Oh thanks for the welcome. I’m rather enjoying this new adventure. We’ve had the RV to Cape Charles twice now stopping to overnight at Mobjack Brewery in Hayes Va. Also been to visit friends in Weyers Cave.
  3. Oh thanks. It’s been to long!!
  4. Hi Everyone! Sorry for my long absence!! A visit to my favorite scale modeling site is long overdue. I’ve had an extremely busy spring!! I’ve finally sold my home in Woodstock GA and Carol and I have taken up permanent residency at her condo in Richmond VA. I endeared an estate sale of most of my belongings except for some cherished antiques and family memorabilia. My 150 finished builds sold to a collector as did my 100+ kit stash. I did keep a few! On the travel front we visited Portugal and Spain just before Christmas and then enjoyed Christmas here in Richmond. I’ve slowly built up my new man cave and bench area and have completed a Tamiya 1/35 Tiger 1, a Tamiya 1/35 Panther and I’m presently building a Tamiya 1/35 Easy Eight Sherman. So that’s it from here. Hope all is well with everyone? Ralph
  5. Really great actually. That what I used before the AK stuff.
  6. Thanks Rob for your kind heads up. I’ve actually used a product similar to this for years with great success doing all sorts of camouflage patterns. Unfortunately I’ve return to Richmond for the holidays and forgot my can in Woodstock. I do love how it flattens itself in the can after use, lol!!
  7. Ordered some AK camouflage plastic putty for laying down camouflage lines on my 251!!!
  8. It’s a beauty I must say. It’s been a bit finicky especially the suspension pieces but overall nothing that couldn’t be handled. I do wish the instructions had some written notes next to each section/subassembly to further clarify some of the more confusing aspects.
  9. Definitely will. It’s a beautifully detailed engine. Even has decals!!!
  10. Lovely job on the motor. I’m getting ready to build up my 1/16 motor.
  11. Haven’t notice much of that on this kit. It’s pretty clean and clean up has been pretty minimal so far.
  12. Today I’m feeling a bit better. At least I have some energy but not much. I hope you feel better soon also.
  13. I’ve had all my boosters my last a few weeks before leaving for Portugal. Evidently there’s a new strain making itself known in the EU and that what I had. I can’t imagine what it would have been like without my vaccinations!
  14. Wow 4 times!!! That has to be a record!!! This is my first and I hope last. Thus experience has been awful!!
  15. I’m so pissed off!!! How could this happen? One initial and seven booster vaccinations since 2020 and look what I returned from my Portuguese vacation with!!!! No wonder I was feeling so bad!!! Okay now what?? As recently as February, a positive rapid test would’ve meant five days of isolation, away from work, school, and/or other obligations that involve going out in public. Not anymore. In March, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its COVID isolation guidelines based on symptoms, not time since testing positive. The guidelines shifted in part to match those of other common respiratory viral illnesses, including the flu and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). The CDC now says you’re cleared to resume normal activities when the following are both true for at least 24 hours: Your symptoms are getting better overall You haven’t had a fever (and aren’t using fever-reducing medication) Bottom line: If you’re sick, stay home. If your symptoms persist, you may end up isolating for five or more days after all, but you’ll be doing your part to protect your loved ones, coworkers, and others in your community from infection. Damn it………
  16. Started assembling the front suspension in step 7!! Talk about fiddly!!! Especially the mounting brackets that attach the front axles!! Fortunately Andy’s Hobby Warehouse YouTube video came to my rescue!!
  17. Thanks Kev. Tamiya makes 4 variants of this kit. I have all 4. Well 3 with this build. The Sdkfz is a great kit also. I’ve never met a Tamiya kit I haven’t liked.
  18. Really a gem of a kit despite its age. The tracks are rubber however they fit nicely and with paint and weathering they look very nice.
  19. Ok my god step 7 front suspension and roadwheels!!! We knew they were on the instructions somewhere, lol!!!
  20. Oh boy the Mandalorian was waiting for me when I got home!!!😄
  21. Okay back to the build after our return from Portugal. Spent some time today assemble the drivers side suspension. Glad I had the passenger side as a reference! Oh and PS if you have the opportunity to visit Portugal and Spain please do. We absolutely feel in love with both countries and look forward to a return visit soon. Okay back to building, lol!!
  22. Thanks much for the weather report. We had an absolutely wonderful time. Really enjoy Lisbon and Porto. I’m definitely in love!!!
  23. Oh thanks so much. I’m looking forward to doing the Mandalorian. I enjoyed the Revell Razor Crest kit especially painting with different Tamiya metal paints!
  24. Would love to hear your comments on the Death Star?
