  1. Tony, I sent you a pic on the seatbelts
  2. Bill, one thing you have going for you is Wingnut’s almost ‘perfect’ plastic. It glues easily and neatly.
  3. The cool is strong in this one...
  4. Yeah, one solitary man builds 98% of the world's supply of Corsairs.
  5. I agree with everyone here. I dropped a T-28 when I was loading up for the Nats. Broke all three landing gear clean off, wiped out the entire underwing stores, and cracked the seam on the spine. The model had been ready for a couple weeks and I was going to just look at it and see if there were any misses. I tossed it in the bin, went to the Nats, and when I returned, pulled it out and suddenly the problems didn't look so bad. It was repaired in a couple easy sessions.
  6. Yep, and a see a couple spots around the pit I need to touch up. Tsk Tsk
  7. What a fun build! This is a brand new kit, and I ordered one the moment they hit the market. It’s been a very long time since I’ve enjoyed building a model as much as I did this one. It was built OOB including kit seatbelts and all the kit PE. It all fit, and fit well. The decals got a workout with the corrugated surface, but settled down nicely with a couple applications of Micro Sol. Comments welcome.
  8. Tony, Harold’s goodies should be here in a day or two and we can meet up. It’ll make a huge difference. On one of my SEA builds, I used two figures, both dressed in OD fatigues and wearing boonie hats. I made them similar to what the Spec Ops guys wore. Casual and laid back. Both were climbing in, one was an African American. To me they looked perfect. I think the VNAF pilots wore flight suits though. Looking forward to more
  9. I have honk it looks great. One of he shortcomings of the Hasegawa kit are those big steps in the flaps where they join the wing when retracted. For some reason, that’s always really bothered me. But you nailed it with the Trumpeter edition.
  10. Dekenba Dean, OK, even though I let a lot of goofy things slide around here and moderate this forum with an extremely light touch, your last post is extremely offensive. We manage to keep it lighthearted around here and don’t bring politics into it. None of us do. Consider this a warning. I’m writing this in the open, not as a PM, because I need to be VERY clear. I will not stand for ANY personal attacks or insults against either a single human, or a group of them. I’ve hidden the post. I truly hope you just tipped the bottle a bit more than usual tonight and can get back to normal tomorrow.
  11. Tomorrow I’ll get some d cent pics and move it to the finished area.
  12. I’ll ask others around me in the know if they are aware of any official names..
  13. I’m about ready to call this one finished. A month start to finish. Almost a record for me. A couple pics I snapped the other night,.... I’ll take some better pics in a day or so and post in finished builds. I need to figure out the antenna system as there is conflicting information there
  14. Short, fat, and slow isn't always bad. Or at least that's what I tell my wife.
  15. I keep hoping they'll come out with the B-47, and if they do, I'll be extremely happy indeed. Once I'm done the 36, I tyhink I'd regret not getting the other, so here we go. I have the space at the office, and they'll look good there.
  16. I like your plan! The closet is the resin closet, where the resin kits live. I never thought about barricading myself in before, but it’s brilliant! That second one isn’t a B-36....
  17. Several months ago, after hearing that someone else was going to pull the pin on an HPH bomber, I thought that if I don’t do it and give the Peacemaker a family member, I’d forever regret it down the road. The Peacemaker build is well on its way now, so eventually, she’ll have an ugly cousin to keep her company.
  18. After seeing Jeroen’s amazing build, I decided to have a go of the Trumpeter Wellington. I bought it used, and it came with just about every PE and resin bit known to man...
  19. Looking good so far, Mike. It’s a nice kit and builds into a speculator model when finished
  20. Yep. The US Government was worried about having enough 1911 pistols during WW1, so they asked Colt and S&W to make a revolver that took the new .45ACP round. Both manufacturers made the same pistol, with very minor detail differences. They were difficult to unload because the new .45ACP cartridge was designed for automatic pistols and didn’t have a traditional rim lip around the end of the case. So regular push type cylinder ejectors wouldn’t work. Instead, the manufacturers went with a half moon clip where the cartridges were pre attached, and could be quickly loaded. It’s a cool piece. Accurate, well built, very military, and all but completely forgotten. When we display these things, people under 30 marvel that a soldier would go to war with a weapon that isn’t black and made of plastic. They comment that the pistols look like “Cowboy guns” and the rifles look just like grandpa’s deer rifle, which they basically are. history is totally lost on so many youngsters today.
