  1. So I have just arrived in Canada visit visit family. However, I brought along with me a a little project and am going to do like what more than a few world class modelers with careers do: build out of a flight bag. I want to try to get this as close to finished as possible, leaving off antennas, props, and gear, so it can be safely transported home in my luggage. It’s as cold as the proverbial witch’s mammalian protuberances, so I won’t be playing outside much... So we brought a Hasegawa kit, a small portable compressor for my airbrush, and a few supplies....
  2. Individual PE parts hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha have fun, man. Better you than me. This kit is pretty much an almost sorta kinda half definite NO for me.
  3. Packed a Hasegawa P-47 and a Trumpeter Razorback. I figure I’ll see what I can accomplish at night and take them both as far as I can while still keeping them transportable in luggage. So no props or landing gear will be mounted. I have high hopes I’ll actually get something done. WIPs to follow.
  4. Looking great so far Phil! Stunning work
  5. So I’m going to take a P-47 and some basic supplies with me, and maybe jump in to a quick, easy build away from home. Lets see how it goes...
  6. Smitty, remember, if you actually do one of these, you’ll need to reproduce every last, single one of those vortex generators on the horizontal stabilizer. Sounds like fun, huh?
  7. Yep, a Lukgraph Dragon Rapide in 1/32. Noice I’m more psyched by the P.11C though.
  8. Good LORD man. Now you’ve been smoking something green and fierce. I honestly want a B-47. I like the 52, but don’t “love” it. I’d say you could do this kit proud. I’d say that if you look at it asin investment in your entertainment hours, you’d find that one of these is the best value you could ever have on an hour by hour basis. But the key is to build it. Stash queens do one no good. My stash has shrunk by about 2/3. I just replaced plastic found at yard sales with cool resin. On about a 5:1 ratio.
  9. Hahaha! Yep. Mom’s back in the hospital, had a seizure and fell. So I need to get there and deal with stuff. I’ll still be in here chit chatting, but obviously, much building won’t b going on.
  10. I plan on starting mine come month end. I’ve had a bit of a setback as I need to travel to see my parents next week. I’ll be away from the bench until the 27th.
  11. I just orgasmed. Not sure, but I had better check to see if it was real.
  12. Looks good, buddy. The Hobbyzone stuff I bought has been completely awesome!!
  13. And I made it halfway through exactly one...... Maybe someday I’ll finish it.
  14. That’s the version I think I’ll do, Martin. Civilian registration police aircraft. From what I’ve been able to read, the S-199 and all other Western aircraft were sold, 109s, Spitfires and others, many to Israel because the Soviets ordered them to get rid if all western equipment. But they kept the 262 clones?
  15. I’m actually not sure, Smitty but it’s nice.
  16. I’m not sure. It was apparently a prototype by a guy who developed the shapes but never put it into production. I know nothing more than that
  17. It’s the Werner’s Wings kit, of which I bought two. Plus I have a nose from a previous maker as well. I intend on doing an Israeli Serie 1 with the chin scoop, an Israeli Series lll with the smooth bottom, and a Czech bird with sliding hood. This one will most likely be a Series l. I need to relieve the bottom and interface the scoop into the cowl. And welcome home, Martin!
  18. Had to go to an unexpected funeral today, but I had an hour to goof around. So I ran another line of gauges on the 36, and puttered with this a bit. HGW belts are so much fun... Did I say I’m not a 109 fan? But I am a fan of postwar conversions that extended the service life for several decades, right up into the 1970s.
  19. Magneto, I feel the best solution would be for you to purchase this kit and give us a detailed WIP on these pages. In dong so, you’ll guide the rest of us through the rocky spots. I’m looking forward to seeing that come to fruition.
  20. I apologize for not checking back with this. I thought once would have been enough. Jeroen, good catch and thanks.
  21. The B-52 is beautiful, no doubt. Maybe someday.... But the 36 is a bucket build for me, and I’ve set a goal to “try” to have it ready for next years Nats, although it won’t go to Vegas unless I drive. Barring that, it’ll be Omaha.. I’m not rushing that one, it’ll be an amazing model when finished. As for being talked about, that must be why my ears were ringing....
