    Most was bought when available new. Some is traded for, and others are purchased. I’ve let much of my mainstream IM kits go, and have concentrated on resin and limited edition stuff. Like the Fisher kits. As good or better than any IM kits out there, but are very limited, and resin. Plus, today, they’re unavailable unless you wish to pay huge eBay prices. Dale, deals are out there though. Example, I bought a Fisher “Red Baron” racer kit for $165.00, which was less than the kit sold for new. But it was basically “Johnny on the Spot” when it was listed. Theres a Fisher Panther on there now, but they want 300+ US for it, and the kit was 180.00 brand new. Same with the F7U Cutlass, the ugliest carrier fighter jet aircraft ever built, and it sold for 400.00+ US. It was under 300 new. Just watch, and when something comes available, bid like you want to win it. BIN if possible. Or, just wait till I croak. Smitty and Harv will dispose of them...

    Yes, I'm quite used to epic fails, but mostly because I truly enjoy taking some really crude and unrefined old resin half kits and attempting to make winners of them. I usually win, but occasionally there is one seriously epic crash and burn

    Rob, I've seen 4 or 5 builds of this kit on contest tables over the years, and every single one of them looked stunning. I'm super, suoper excited to see what you can do with this kit.

    Rob, I have the two different versions of that kit, plus one of the additional boxings for the extras. I so very much want to delve into mine as well, but Large Scale Models just claw me back. After my B-36, I have three 1/48 kits I want to build: The AMK Mug-31, Kitty hawk Mug-25 recce bird, and the Kitty Hawk Su-24. I love the look of modern Russian jets, but fo me, but in 1/32 they are just way, way too big for my allocated jet space, so 1/48 it'll need to be. I've heard stories that AMK kits are simply sublime when it comes to fit, finish, and general buildability , with scale fidelity being almost perfect as well. Why this line of kits isn't more popular is beyond me. Their new F-14D Tomcat is supposedly flawless as well.

    Nothing at all compares to the AFB Carter. Edelbrock did right by bringing them back.

    I’m the same way. Big bold bulges or scoops, etc, usually lead to nothing. For decent, reliable, no nonsense compact power, you can’t beat a small block Ford. The 302 is extremely compact, and will look lost in that cavernous engine room. But they’re cheap, plentiful, and make decent power along with total reliability. As far as sound goes, though, nothing, and I mean NOTHING compares to a healthy Y-Block Ford though a pair of glass packs. A pure 50s hot rod sound right out of Thunder Road.

    Unfortunately, it has a big block Ford in it now. It should have a 272 Y-Block. But I’ll remove the 460 and drop in a 302 (5.0) out of a late 80s Mustang for her. It’ll be reliable and have fuel injection, etc. Other than that, it’ll stay fairly stock looking. No wild paint or crazy wheel/tire combos. Just a nice vintage looking reliable driver. That huge hnk of iron over the front axle does it no favors whatsoever. Imaine driving around with a thousand pound block of iron attached to your front bumper.

    I’m doing this up for my wife, to recreate her first truck. I expect she’ll love it. Either that, or kick me out.

    I envy the Kiwi and Aussie folks. The Ute is a definite South Pacific development, and is sorely missed around here. I’ll never get get rid of my 1997 Ford diesel F-250, but I sure can appreciate a sporty UTE.

    I got it. I’ve always “gotten” dry British humour. I have been blessed with being able to see situations developing and be able to occasionally work the situation into hilarious culmination. One more often than not lost on my American brethren. Early Python was there for me during my military days. We laughed like fiends and it kept us going throughout the most stressful of deployments. My platoon could recite entire 2 hour soundtracks word by word. But sir, it’s just wahhfer thin.... RIP My Good Man.....

    Thanks Wumm! This is exactly what I needed and why y’all are awesome. Even Smutty with his lame attempt a youmah. I was about to tell him to cut it and blend it in, upon which, after him seeing your comment, would have caused him to probably skin me alive.

    I have a buddy in the middle of a Hasegawa 109 project and he needs to install the large wing bulges. Should the wing be cut and these installed flush with the skin, and the join seams removed, or should they be applied over the existing wing? I’m no 109 expert, so I don’t have the foggiest idea....

    Yikes. I have an ex wife like that. A venomous forked tongue that one has. Our scorpions aren't so bad. They'll make you hop, no doubt, but it's much like a Yellowjacket wasp except that the excruciating pain stays for 6 hours, not just 30 minutes.

    Danny, you should be getting your ZM kit anytime now. Hannants didn't appear to carry them, so I ordered it from Volks USA and forwarded it to you. Looking forward to seeing many up and coming cool build threads. I'm seriously looking forward to what happens when Carl gets his Lanc. He might need to keep cats and such off the build bench....

    Thank God for that. I've never been one for aircraft all opened up and stuff. I always thought that if cowls are off, inspection panels are off, and all other doors are open, it really should have all the armament removed and be up on stands. Heck you can swing the gear, pull the spinners to check the prop seals, and finish the rest of it's condition inspection as well.
