  1. Welcome to LSM! This is looking to be a rare treat. Watching closely here….
  2. Thanks Carl. It sure is irritating though, simply because of the almost total absence of any really decent pictures of an actual working Helldiver. The pics out there are of the CAF Helldiver, which is a restored warbird with most of its wartime goodies removed. Plus, it’s been wrecked and rebuilt so many times that it’s like a lot of T-6s out there: a cobbled together bunch of parts from several wrecks wired up to look like whole airplane.
  3. Pulling up a chair for this one. This is gonna be good
  4. Resin 2 Detail has a STUNNING 3D printed seat for the 1/32 Lancs…
  5. No pressure, Mike, just a quick look at what I have sitting that needs finishing. My Brewster is pretty much OOB stuck, other than decals. I left all the cutting and hacking to my Helldiver kit, and that thing is in a world all it’s own. One of the simplest, but most challenging builds I’ve done so far. I’m hoping it’ll measure up the standards shown by others here.
  6. I have zero clue as to how the original cabling goes in the cockpit, but my goal is to simply busy it up a bit
  7. Here I continue along with some update pics. Not much done since last week, but I’m close to closing up the fuselage. I’m actually enjoying this build way more than I expected. I knew going it it was going to be very resin like in construction technique, but the lack of resin dust except from a few small parts is a real pleasure for me right now. This is not a difficult model, just time consuming with all the sanding and fitting
  8. So now Mike, I have the current Helldiver and a Brewster to finish, followed by a Corsair. I have a few bust months ahead of me. Your Brewster is looking stunning so far!
  9. Mike, I haven’t looked at this in a bit, well, ok, quite a bit. Your joining in has just lit my fire again. I’ve got it out right beside the Helldiver and am doing some decals and asking as I go…
  10. The rest of the cockpit set is positively brilliant! A truly gorgeous enhancement to the model.
  11. Even that won’t help old Short Shot here in Texas. And no, I’m not a resin caster…
  12. A few updates. Just a few details getting picked out. Oh boy does this thing need some weathering in there. I have ZERO clues where the placards go, but I slapped a few on just to busy the darn thing up a bit.
  13. The SBD is a brilliant kit. TBM/F? I’ve heard it is as well and was copied directly from the Accurate Miniatures 1/48 Avenger, which I DID build. This reminds me of typical Sword plastic: good fit of the airframe parts, but interior fit is “vague”. It’s actually making me work for it, which is nice because I’m in that kind of mood. I will say that this is probably the very first kit I’d say that some aftermarket parts aren’t nice, but are REQUIRED, assuming you want a build up to the standards LSM showcases. At LEAST a seat followed by some light scratching where needed. But even if you’re closing it up, the Resin2Detail cockpit adds a metric ton to the model.
  14. I use the word loosely. After all, this IS a G-rated site. 🤬 😇
  15. I’ve received several PMs from Members regarding this previous hacker that snuck in last weekend. There were several links in those posts, and more than a few Members worded their PM in such a way that sounded like they really really wanted to click on one…. I know it’s tempting, the unopened box syndrome and all, BUT Please don’t! If you receive a strange link from an unknown person, don’t click on it. OR, if you just really GOTTA, then please copy and paste it somewhere other than here before you click and that way, you only nuke your computer, not all of ours and potentially the entire modeling community’s. Just remember, this site is here for all of us, and there’s better things we all want to be doing on our time off work than us rebuilding a website and deleting crap posts, and y’all having to restore and repair your build threads. Thanks ahead of time 😄😄😄😄
  16. The thing I’m finding on this is that the kit is actually pretty typical HPH. Absolutely gorgeous exterior moldings/castings, and some basic fit issue on the inside. So far, I’ve found that if you can build short run injected or full resin kits, (not including Silver Wings, Lukgraph, or Fisher, which fit as good as a Hasegawa kit) you won’t find any surprises here. With a bit, ok ALOT of care and attention, this appears like it’ll build up into a stunner. Obviously I have a ways to go yet, but the area I’m in now is where the major complaints occurred, so once the fuselage is together and the modifications complete, it should be semi smooth sailing. There have been several really nice builds of this kit so far, and yes, aim going a bit further down the road of idiocy than most, their kits all turned out awesome. And best of all? I have a resin type build, but ZERO resin dust.
  17. And then guess what’s staring at me in disgust. First the Birdcage Corsair gives me hate, and now this one jumps out and says FINISH ME!
  18. Placing a few more internal components tonight, and started scratching out a rear bulkhead because the kit part is closer to 1/48 than 1/32. It’s attached to the right side, but not glued on the bottom or to the left side. Some adjustment needed yet. But the good news is that other than a few rivets and such, it’s just a flat piece, so cardstock will work just fine. I’m looking forward to being able to hit the rear with some wear and tear so it looks like an actual workspace. Good LORD this is one UGLY aircraft.
  19. Very nice and precise work. I love it, Sasha.
  20. Nicely done and a great save.
  21. So let’s finish up those builds and get them up on the RFI page. I need to heed my own advice…

  22. Yeah I think I went down a long list of spam and yours may have been mixed in the middle of it. I don’t recall seeing it, but I can’t think of anything else that could have happened.
  23. It was driving me crazy. I had a honey do list and an antique car show I had hanging over my head. Only one could be done and it certainly wasn’t the car show. LOL.
  24. I’m not sure, but I MAY have accidentally deleted it in my panic when we were getting hit. Honestly, this is the first I heard about it. Just remember, I’m easily approachable and if something’s not right, reach out! I’m on FB as well and it’s sometimes easier during the day to reach me there on FB messenger. Glad you got your thread back, sorry about that Kevin if I was the guilty party.
