Perfect paint job
-
Thanks Harv Gluing in process and edge pre painting. Will let it all rest 24 hours before I start the ground work.I glued the mat to a large piece of black styrene, the ground mat is from a reptile store. It was a challenge to cut it straight because of the small rocks, I ended cutting it from the back with a surgical scalpel. This is what I will try to achieve.

Pete, dont know about next choice. Will proceed with this and will see how it looks. Never done anything this big of ground work before so again outside my comfort zone, you got to push your limit. I made a frame of the truck if I need to add some tire marks since I don't want to use my truck to do it. preview of the figures.

Started on the base. I am not so sure the desert scene is the way to go at this point, mmmmmnn!!!! I got the mat from a reptile place.

How did I miss this build. A great subject for sure. Looks so sharp.

Started on the tail rotor. A lot of masking on this. I had to take extra care when pulling the tape not to break the fragile PE parts. Next is some chipping and a wash. The tail rotor on the H 34 is pretty clean compare to other helicopters since the engine exhausts are on the front of the helo.

Update. next are attaching all the hoses and painting the wheels and gluing everything together. Still haven't decided on pigments yet. My friend is pushing me to enter the truck in IPMS contest this weekend in town but I don't want to rush the wheels and mess things up so will pass on the contest.

Finished the first part of the crane and glued the oil tank. I broke the cabin door and the front window wiper so fixing that today.
