I've found a couple of sources that give different call outs for that. The Squadron Signal #191 F4F Wildcat in Action says they left the factory with Bronze Green cockpits. The Detail & Scale #30 on the Wildcat quotes zinc chromate green (not to be confused with the yellow tinted ZC). However, in the color photo section of that book it has several very nice color pics of the interior of a FM-2 Wildcat and, to my eyes, it appears to be Bronze Green. It may be that some did have ZCG interiors and some had BG interiors. Take your pick! LOL

Forging right along! The wings are ready to mount but the inserts that slide into the fuselage are pretty shallow. It might be necessary for some added strength to drill a couple of holes in the wing roots and fuselage side for some added dowels. We will see!

Thank you Kai!

I too built that kit Gaz. In it's day it wasn't too bad! LOL
-
Easy peasy too Peter.

Yes, it can be "touchy" for sure. Same for the canopy parts. 🤪

Thank you Harv!

Thanks Kai. It has had it's "moments"!

Thank you Gaz!

Thanks Peter. I hope the wings won't have too high of a cuss-factor but we will see! 😉

Thanks Kai. Unfortunately there's not much can be done on the rest of the cockpit. I heard that Grand Phoenix did a resin cockpit for it but wasn't able to find one.
-
LOL Peter! Thanks!

Making a little progress. All Wildcats, according to my info, left the factory with Bronze Green interiors. I replaced the kit control stick and seat with items from my spares stash as the kit one's were terrible.

Three of my four little critters. I lost runt a couple of weeks ago when she was hit by a car. I gave roofus her name after I found her on my roof one day when she was just a kitten. They are now 2 1/2 yrs old. Love their Friskies!

I'm currently building their -4 and everything looks okay to me.
-
Thanks Peter. That procedure works well for me.

LOL As long as there IS another one then all is good.
-
Maybe not finished but certainly well along. LOL

Since I've decided to shelve the Sherman and Skyraider I'm now getting started on my Trumpeter F4F-4. I plan to replace the kit seat and control stick with some from my spares stash. I'd like to replace the rubber wheels with plastic or resin ones but, as far as I've been able to determine, no one makes them. To start I've painted the cockpit area with Bronze Green then I'll start with the black areas such as radio set, etc. I've got some nice decals by Wolfpack Designs coming from SB which should give me some good choices of markings, etc.

Agreed Peter. That's just "modelling" I suppose. -

I just lost the "want to" on the tank and AD for some reason. One of those things. But, since I haven't built a Wildcat in 1/32, I look forward to working on that for a change of pace. -
