  1. Finished with decaling. Now for some serious weathering. 🙂
  2. I got the bug for another Birdcage build but I don't have one 🙄. As a alternative I decided to re do this one to a VMF 213 a/c named Gus's Gopher. This is it's current status with nearly all of the decals in place. I intend to do another FAA bird but will probably use a -1A and make the needed adjustments (clipped wings, etc). Stay tuned.
  3. It's possible it's Dark Mediterranean Blue which was used on some of those a/c. I had to do some searching to find a source and came up with "Arcus" made in "EU". I don't know for certain but it's worth checking out.
  4. Thank you Hubert. I tried to get a decent weathered OD instead of just overall clean OD. 🙂
  5. Thanks Chris! I'm glad you like it. 🙂
  6. Thanks Paul. Another P-40 done for the collection. 🙂
  7. That's nice of you to say that Kevin. I'm glad you like it. Thank you!🙂
  8. All done. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/20525-p-40e-scott-finished/
  9. All done with this one. FineMolds belts are the only after market items. Otherwise OOB. Painted with Testors, Tamiya, and Compucolor. Markings are mostly kit decals and some from my decal stash. These Hasegawa P-40's are enjoyable builds and build up to be nice models. I hope you like it. 🙂
  10. I look forward to seeing your P-40 build. I have no doubt it will be a beaut! 🙂
  11. Yes indeed Martin, thanks. I'll spray some clear gloss today and start decaling. Just might have it finished some time tomorrow. 🙂
  12. Good progress. Next I'll paint the undersides.
  13. Thank you Hubert! I'm glad you like it. 🙂
  14. Making some progress.
  15. That would be good. How did you come by that info?
  16. Thanks Martin. I wish Hasegawa would re-release their "M", "K", and "N" kits. Those are getting harder to find and when you do find one it's not cheap unfortunately. I have their "N" 15,000 anniversary kit which I have up for sale. I'll either sell it or build it. 🙂
  17. If my memory serves me right then, yes, that's Taylor's bird.
  18. Thank you Chris. OOB except for the FineMolds belts. Whenever you try one you'll like it. Great details and fit. Easy build also. 🙂
  19. Yes, I built their P-40B a while back. Not a bad kit. I did it as Taylor's a/c he flew at Pearl Harbor, a/c #155.
  20. Thanks! I'm happy you like them.
  21. Yes sports fans and athletic supporters. Another Hasegawa P-40 build is under way. The Hasegawa kits are nicely detailed and enjoyable to build. I just wish they would reissue the "K", "M", and "N" as those are hard to find and when you do find any the prices are pretty high. (Yes, I know, I have a "N" up for sale here but at least I'm not asking a arm and a leg for it. Just a arm maybe! LOL) At any rate, I intend for this build to be Robert L. Scott's "E". Not all that colorful but that's okay. It should make a good looking OOB model. Stay tuned.......
  22. Thank you Kevin. I decided it had set on my "to be completed" shelf long enough. 🙂
