  1. Here's a book that has lots of good info on the '109's. It was published in 1976 but it still is very pertinent to the '109 a/c. I've had mine since it was published and I rely on it for most of my Bf-109 builds (as you can see by the tattered and worn pages!). If you can find one I'd recommend getting it if you have any interest in the '109 a/c and all it's versions, etc.
  2. I resumed work on this kit a few days ago. Most of the painting is done except for the fuselage sides camo, etc.
  3. Adds a nice new "look" to the P-40 I think. Thanks Carl. 🙂
  4. That looks good Peter. Hope you get your modeling mojo back in high gear! 😃
  5. I too wonder about that Peter. I think I'll give it a rest for a bit and come back to it in a bit. I don't look forward to trying to smooth out those wings.
  6. One of my pet peeves with Revell is how they do the wings. It's has always been my experience that this assembly method leaves small uneven gaps on the upper wings that can be difficult to smooth out and hide since they never match up. They should take a tip from Hasegawa and do it right.....
  7. I decided to start another Revell '109 model and use some of the Aims decals for "Blue 8". Great decals and I hate to just let them sit in the decal stash. 🙂
  8. I get my FineMolds belts from them and always have had good service. I recommend 'em.
  9. Thanks Harald. It has many more fiddly bits! It's been a long time since I built a Tamiya 1/48 Corsair but I don't remember it having as many parts. 🙂
  10. Finished with this one. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/20192-hasegawa-148-nmf-p-40n-done/
  11. All done with this one. I was a little unsure about doing a P-40 in NMF but decided to go ahead and give it a shot. I'm glad I did as I really like the way it turned out even though there are a couple of areas that could be better. The only after market are the FineMolds belts. Painted with Alclad Duraluminum. Markings are from the kit but except for the black serial on the tail. Since that was not provided on the decal sheet I printed out my own on clear decal paper. I hope you like the results of my efforts! OOPS! I noticed after first posting this that I had forgotten to paint the intake black! Fixed now! Click on 1st photo, etc......
  12. Coming along well Peter. I just sprayed the Alclad Duraluminum so it's on the down hill slide now.
  13. Should make a good looking model. Different for sure!
  14. Thanks. This kit is such a easy build with no problems and good fit. Very nice for a change of pace from the Revell 262!
  15. Progress on this easy peasy kit.
  16. Thank you Carl! I'm happy that you like it. Thanks again.
  17. Yes, I've seen photos of it. The P-40 just looks "different" in NMF.
  18. This is next up and should be a nice looking out of the usual model. Seems like there were very few NMF P-40's that saw combat. This one is a 49th FG, 7 FS a/c. Just getting started and will post a photo or two shortly.
  19. Thank you Chris! I'm happy you like the way it turned out. I like it too!
  20. Thanks Peter. I am glad you like the model. Saved from the SOD! LOL
