  1. Thanks Frank. They are kit decals from the last Tamiya issue for the Korean war a/c kit.
  2. Trying to keep busy Peter. This one needed my attention for sure.
  3. I started this build a while back but put it aside for a bit. Now it's time to finish it.
  4. Thanks Phil. I'm pleased that you like it. I agree, Xtracolor paints are the best but, in this case, I used Humbrol. LOL 😄 If I wasn't out of Xtracolor Lt. Gull Grey I would have used that. I'm out of several of my Xtracolor paints unfortunately. Thanks again!!!
  5. All done with this one. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/15312-trumpeter-p-51-racer-houstonian-finished/
  6. Finally done with this one. After market includes a Aires cockpit, Barracudacast wheels, Grey Matter props and spinner, and Fine Molds seat belts. Painted with Humbrol Gloss Lt. Gull Gray. I replaced the terrible kit exhausts parts with some from a Revell P-51D. Decals are by Draw Decals. Another racer to add to my collection! Please click on the 1st photo for best resolution and to view as a slide show.
  7. That's why I have stayed with enamels for the most part.
  8. Looks like another great looking race car build Peter! Race CARS for you and race AIRPLANES for me LOL! John
  9. Thanks Gaz. None that I know of but that would be neat though.
  10. The one's I use are enamels but they also have acrylics. Great paint!
  11. That's Xtracolor Lt. Sea Grey Peter. Nice and smooth and shiny! I really like Xtracolor. Too bad it can't be imported to the US. I need to find someone in England to ship me a batch.
  12. About finished with the painting so now it's time for decaling.
  13. Better than trying to find anything on the TV worth watching. 😉
  14. LOL Peter. Keeps me from getting bored with life. 😄 I need to have something to do that I enjoy so I devote a lot of time to building.
  15. Thank you Kevin. Different for sure!
  16. Just about ready for priming and painting.
  17. Sad but true Gaz. I built one of their razorback P-47's a while back and, if I remember correctly, it wasn't all that bad. They wasted a lot of plastic on all that ducting, etc on the interior and I didn't use any of it. One thing they seem to always do is over-do rivet detail. On this P-51 I spread putty and sealer over the wings to tone them down especially since this particular a/c was converted to wet wings for cross country racing and had smooth wing surfaces, etc. I think Tamiya or Hasegawa are missing the boat by not having these two in their 1/32 lineup.
  18. Outstanding Peter! Extremely well done! 🖕
  19. Nice work on a oldie Gaz. No way would I want to embark on such a small model and a bi-plane at that! Way too small for my old eyes. LOL
  20. Thanks Phil. How about another P-51 air racer? https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/15103-another-trumpeter-p-51c-air-racer-wip/
  21. Thanks Martin. I'm glad you like it!
