Tamiya F4U-1A (FG-1A) Peleliu
JohnB replied to JohnB's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Here's a tip for you guys that will make the wing fit much easier. If you plan to have the wings extended this works well. If you are going to have them folded you will need to go on and attach them as shown. -
Pretty well cleaned up but still needing a little sanding on the panel lines. I've decided to do this RAF Mustang with Polish markings instead of Bald Eagle.

Thanks. Now some gloss coat then decals then a flat coat. Decals later. -

Here ya go. All the "base" camo done. Some weathering is next. Those a/c were all very weathered so I'll need to be careful and not over do it (or under do it!). -

LOL Dennis. I just like to keep something, or some things, going. Helps me to stay at least partly sane! 🤪

The primed Spitfire looks very good! I look forward to seeing it in camo.

Thank you Carl. I'm pretty sure the tail hook was removed as most land based Corsairs had that done. I will leave off the tail hook on this build. -

I know what you mean except keeping busy building helps me to keep my mind off "things". 🙄 -

Thanks Peter. I did that correction on all my Corsair builds but just never mentioned it. -

Rear cockpit bulkhead and seat installed. You might notice the info printed under the head rest is black, not red as supplied on the Tamiya decal sheet. I just re-printed them in black using my laser printer. I've never seen any red one's in color photos, just black. Not saying there never were any red ones, I just never have seen anything but black. -

Time for another Corsair build. This colorized photo decided me on this build. Ought to look pretty neat!
