  1. Done with this one. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/19811-148-p-47n-completed/
  2. If you read my WIP you already know I had started this build something like 10 years ago. I don't remember why I set it aside but I'm glad I decided to resume the build. Now it's all done. The kit is partly Revell and partly Minicraft. Decals are partly Super Scale, Three Guys Replicas, and Aeromaster. Painted with Alclad Duraluminum. The yellow bands are Colourcoats. The most difficult part of the build was attaching the rockets and drop tanks. High cuss factor involved! At any rate, it's done and I hope y'all like the results. And please remember to click on the first photo for best resolution and to view as a slide show. Makes a BIG difference!
  3. Looks nice Peter.
  4. More progress today. Decaling soon.
  5. Thank you Peter. Sounds like it must have been enjoyable!
  6. Thank you Kevin, I'm glad you like it.
  7. Coming right along.
  8. Yep, it was fast but it's such a simple and easy to build kit there was no reason to string it out over time. I decided to just proceed with it. I'm glad you like the model.
  9. Since lately I've been building some kits that I've had on the shelf either partly completed or not I decided to resume work on this P-47N kit. I had it very far along when I put it aside something like 10 years or so ago so now I have a head start on finishing it. Should be a very attractive a/c when done.
  10. Thank you Dennis. I'm glad you like it.
  11. I know what you mean about dropping parts and having to search for them. Seems to happen on nearly every build!
  12. LOL Peter, thanks. I agree about the benefits of 1/48. The only "problem" is the parts are smaller (especially the very small fiddle-bits) which makes it a bit difficult to see them and attach them. Chalk that up though to my 76 year old eyes!
  13. Finished with this one. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/19799-hasegawaminicraft-148-f4u-4-done/
  14. All done with this build. A very easy, simple build. Painted with Testor's Gloss Sea Blue (GSB). Decals are from Aeromaster.
  15. It's such a basic kit there's no problem at all in getting it built and ready for paint, etc. My only problem is it's hard for me to clearly see the little dark colored parts such as the landing gear assembly clearly. Lots of good lighting is necessary! I expect to have it painted and start decaling today.
  16. What a easy build. Since everything fits it really goes fast. Faster than I had expected. I'll start on the GSB paint job next.
  17. The decals worked out fine Peter. Looking good!!
  18. I dunno Peter.🙄 I recommend holding off on getting another KH P-39 until you see some kit reviews. If it's the same ol' same ol' don't waste your money, etc.
  19. Thanks Dennis. I'm glad you like it.
  20. It's a nice kit and should build up to be a looker.
  21. Thank you Ralph. I'm glad you like it.
  22. Thanks very much Mike! I'm pleased that you like it.
  23. This one's been in my stash for quite a while and now is the time to build it. Should be a easy build with little or no after market stuff except for the decals. This Navy bird on this Aeromaster sheet will be the subject.
  24. LOL I'm glad YOU think so Peter.
