  1. I think Piet moved on after the great shake up... Hasn't been on here since 7 March... Matt
  2. Looking good John... What's next? Matt
  3. Well, to my eye, that last photograph looks like a real one, stripped down or undergoing restoration... I think this'll look pretty spectacular when finished.... Matt
  4. Jim I've just resurrected my build of this in its guise with extra nose cooler intake... I'll post something later.... Matt
  5. Cees... great stuff. Each iteration looks better than the last. "But where will it end." - maybe the journey is as much or more fun than the destination....? Matt
  6. Very nicely done.... Is that modified kit part or the Barracuda resin part...? Matt
  7. Thank you George, Paul and Dave. Your explanation is very reassuring George. I'm assuming that this approach results in the upper wing lozenge slightly wrapping around the underneath of the wing. Many thanks... Matt
  8. I have a question that relates to this. How do you treat the wing edges with lozenge decals...? I suppose I'm not sure what the junction between upper and lower lozenge was on the real thing? Was there a tape (like the rib tapes) run over the join, did they meet dead centre of the leading edge or did one overlap the other? It'd be great if someone could do a blow by blow of how this is done as I'm totally paranoid about it..... Matt
  9. Grant I think they are part of the setup you get to following this link - note the page is under construction but it does have a contact... http://www.oldpropeller.com/ To see some of the exquisite decals they produce, have a look at this page at Nordland Models - http://www.nordlandmodels.com/category/decals-1-32:896/ Matt
  10. I do like the fabric effect on the tail lozenge is that Ushi decal? Matt
  11. Masterpiece Darren! I love what you've done with the wood and the nail effect is pretty dam good as well. Watchout you don't get a splinter when you're decalling.... PS - which sheet of decal wood have you used on the fuselage? Matt
  12. It is a nice collection of parts. I bought one a while back at a rather good price (£25 or so) when there was a 'glut' of these Encore Models. Picked up the equally nice Alb DII for same price... Matt
  13. Nice review Nick That whitewashed, dirty old G-2 looks like a nice scheme, plenty of character. Maybe Kagero are helping promote Planet's resin 1/32 Bu 131... I've got one buried in the stash. Matt
  14. These used to be sold by Propagteam. The expensive ones are pre-assembled and ready to display. If you look around you'll see that they do panel kits (like Eduard) for around 30 Euro and individual instruments, control sticks, pedal setc... quite nice stuff on the whole. Matt
  15. Gawd! Take it off the foam and it'd look like the real thing. I do think this is the best rendition of wooden prop I've ever seen, I don't say that lightly either. Think it looks more like scale wood than the real wood props I've seen... Are you an artist/graphic designer or just extremely talented (or both). Pleasure to watch this work unfold. Matt (very envious of your results)..... PS - yes - would be very interested in seeing blow by blow account of how you achieved this finish.
  16. Good work Benjamin So your overall assessment of the fit/difficulty sounds like it is pretty good. I suppose the strut fit can't be odds'd in as much as this is a hand crafted model, cast in a material that has a degree of variability in final size (i.e. resin shrinkage). Only the likes of Wingnut can achieve close to perfection by a combination of CAD and high quality injection moulding. Look forward to seeing the paint on it. Is it going to be an inter war silver doped jobby?? Just re-read page 1. Looking forward to seeing it finished as a silver doped inter war jobby.... Matt
  17. I really like what you've done. First rigging job as well.... your results are inspiration indeed..! Did you make your own turnbuckles or buy Bob's ones? I must dive into one of my WNW kits sooner rather than later.. Matt
  18. Nice work Piet I saw a real Centurion at Cosford and was surprised just how large (especially long) it is. Matt
