  1. Looks like an interesting approach. Obviously you don't want to show us too much of the design (for obvious reasons) but it'd be good/interesting to see how it actually works... You should patent it... In terms of purchasing it... depends upon how much you can sell them for, but it looks more robust than the laser cut wood ones we see here and there... Matt
  2. Rog VERY different.... do a Google search. The early 109s had Jumo 210 engine, large radiator bath under nose (not dissimilar to Ju87 setup) and no radiators under the wing - except a teeny weeny oil cooler lost somewhere - very small item... It will fit, you'll just have to keep fiddling until it does.... Matt
  3. Well Matt, that's a real beauty... and with impeccable cowl fit.... Matt
  4. HI Rog "Matt ... whose resin nose (manufacter?) and would this nose work with the Eduard 1/32 E-1 kit??" Sorry I wasn't clear there. I sawed the nose off the Eduard Weekend Edition E-1 to make one of A2Zee's early Bf109 conversions. He does several and they are excellent.. They, along with several other nice conversions are listed here http://www.a2zeemodels.co.uk/alley-cat-aircraft-sets-132-scale-325-c.asp If you leave out the engine, you may wish to saw off a couple of bits of it to stick behind some of the larger front vents as the engine (or lack of in this case) would be quite visible.... Matt
  5. Great stuff Particularly impressed with the instrument panels.... Matt
  6. Hi If you look here at the last two images on second row, looks like the machine you've chosen.... http://www.wwiiaircraftphotos.com/luftwaffephotos/lar1965.htm Matt
  7. I would imagine that many are using 3D printing for what it is best suited to - i.e. rapid prototyping and master creation. I'm sure Aires, Eduard and Barracuda all use this technology to create the masters for some of the resin parts we see. Matt
  8. Aha... I see, the other end... . I suppose the 'suck in' can be cured with some spacers. The cowl to spinner fit is a less obvious one to correct... How was the fit at the back end Matt...? I'm interested as I have a 'couple' of these stashed away.... Matt
  9. Here's a closer to profile view.... You could say that the two profiles indeed fail to match. Matt
  10. I haven't looked at my Eduard Es cowl closely (my first has a resin nose replacing it all), but is the fit of front to rear cowl worse than this? The E cowls are quite a rough fit in places. look at front of turbo intake to rear of this (on different panels) Matt
  11. Eduard are the only makers of E-1 out of the box....i.e. they provide a new wing without the bulges for 20mm MGFF cannon ammo drums. So, I don't know about 'best' but certainly 'only'.... Regarding assembly, some have fought the kit all the way, some have breezed though building it. I know some have had issues fixing the fit of the top of the rear cowl....more often than not I think people are trying to fix a non-error here. The cowl had a small air gap to ventilate engine bay... it's clear on photos from the correct angle.... Matt
  12. I have one and the barrels are very good. Usually one replaces barrels due to the seam line (two part IM mould makes this inevitable) that can be hard to clean without making barrel oval. MDC barrels are cast in single piece rubber mould so, no seam line... I also suspect no one does metal replacements...a Google search came up with nothing? Matt
  13. Excellent stuff What are the objects that look like bottles attached to the aerials? Matt
  14. It's a beauty! The quality of the groundwork really does compliment the realism achieved with the tank... Matt
  15. Excellent. Many thanks for the run down.. I'll have to get hold of some water soluble pencils. I have some non-soluble but they are so hard they won't actually put any colour down.... Cheers Matt
  16. Very tasty paint job. Care to give us some idea how you approached it...? Certainly looks the part for late war finish. Matt
  17. If you mean pics of the bulged wing root fairing, this link will take you to some photos of the 'restoration' of an ex Yugoslavian AF Bf109G-10. The text will describe the details... Good images here.. http://www.clubhyper.com/reference/bf109detailbg_1.htm Matt
  18. Hi Nick Good honest review as usual. he did a series with Christer Bergstron (what Benjamin is referring to above) they are nice, but actually include details and photos of the aircraft depicted. Called Luftwaffe Aircraft in Profile Vols 1 & 2 (as Mike mentions below) The small blister on the top of Graf's G-6 is where a small rear view mirror was fitted. This was considered as a standard mod by Messerschmitt but wasn't taken up (probably due to combination of Galland Panzer (glass rear 'armour') and the Erla Haube clear vision canopy becoming available... Matt Edited to correct ref.
  19. Beautiful work Jamme Considering the Eduard kit isn't held up as a 'shake and bake' you've done a very clean build and a superb finish... Looks good enough to be 1/32.... Matt
  20. Very nice Dora there, efrick. I like the subtle sheen you've got, especially on the cowl (well that's where it's most visible). What top coat do you have on her? Matt
  21. Nice clean work... looking forward to seeing some more. Matt
  22. Rocky Plenty of corrections to do on this kit..... . Jerry Rutman has done a couple of new items recently, including a good looking undercarriage. The kit was designed from the Aero Detail drawings and Trumpeter unfortunately incorporate the curved panel lines on the wings (very strange). U/C door inners are modelled on the replacement units fitted to one of the two 190Ds in the US, they're wrong needless to say - I think Jerry does replacements... It'll certainly look impressive when completed... If you need any refs, drop me a message... Matt
  23. Looks great... Hope you've had it treated for woodworm...? Matt
