  1. Yeah, agreed, the sharp angle on the 190’s lg is hard on the gear. I tried the metal gear but the problem is with the wing mount for the gear not the gear itself
  2. About to start my next 1/24 scale, World War II kit. The trumpeter hooker hurricane mark to see in tropical kit unfortunately, my left shoulder went out rotator cuff surgery with a biceps reattachment at least it’s my left shoulder so it’s for maybe a week and then I’m about to start. I’ve got my One man army masks. I’ve got some PE some cockpit goodies and I can’t wait to start. This one will be my first Tropical camouflage scheme. Where to put these big aircraft, the the ones I built quite a few years ago I had been hanging in my garage until my old air fix FW 190 a crashed to the floor while I was dusting it. now they’re sitting on a dresser in a closet. That’s the one problem with 124 scale models.
  3. Got to send some love out to 1 man army for the great painting masks! I’ve now used them on my 1/24 builds of the air fix Hellcat, the 1/24 air fix Typhoon, the 1/24 new spitfire, the 1/24 trumpeter FW190D and next up the trumpeter 1/24Hurricane and 1/24 airfix Stuka. After a slight delay of healing from shoulder surgery.
  4. Pretty much finished my latest 124 scale aircraft trumpeters 124 scale FW 190 Dora had some trouble loading pictures during the build finally figured it out mixed up 124 scale trumpeter hawker hurricane
  5. Started my next 1/34 ww2 aircraft after 6 surgeries on my shoulders, wrists, and a tumor removed from my chest. All keeping me from building models. I finally started my trumpeter 1/24 fw 190 d-9 and I still have a hurricane, 2 stukas( one airfix,1 MPC) and a Bandai George. maybe some help from somebody. I’ve always used this iPhone to take pictures of my builds and upload them here with no problems but now I get a severer failure message number 200 when I try to upload them. I’ve tried my iPad as well

  6. Wow!!!! Great line up!
  7. Looks great! Again, a learning example for guys like me!!
  8. Beautiful work!! I wish there was a 1/24 scale Corsair!!!
  9. Finished as far as I know at this point in time!! My first model with no decals at all. A airfix 1/24 typhoon ‘car door’ model converted to a ‘teardrop’ o r’bubble’ canopy model.
  10. Got it! Prop done! On to the completed model inspection
  11. Oh yes!!! I need to add the prop manufacturer decals and paint the yellow safety tips on the props!
  12. I’m at that point where I think I’m done. I added brake lines and holders to the landing gear. Dirtied up the inside of the flaps. Added ignitor leads to the rockets. The next posts will be in the completed section!
  13. Still need to weather the wheel wells and flap openings
  14. Love to see the different paint schemes!!
  15. I love radial engines!!! Here’s my 1/24 hellcat wasp
  16. Rounding the corner, almost wrapped up another 1/24 scale aircraft. Most challenging airfix kit yet. Next up will be a kenetic 1/34 scale p-47 Thunderbolt bubble top. Never built a kenetic kit before and it looks kinda basic.
  17. Got the plane ID painted and prop blades touched up. Love the 1 man army masks
  18. Got the squadron band painted and I also repainted the spinner yet again. Next I’ll mask the plane number over the band. I’ve assembled the extra fuel tanks, rockets and launch rails. I’ll finish and paint those items and install them next
  19. Masked and painted the anti skid walkways and step today. Wetted and applied sugar to the walkway surface and sprayed dark gull grey. Wiped the sugar off after it dried. Happy with it. I assembled the underwing rocket launcher rails and rockets and I’ll paint them tomorrow. I’ll also install the bomb racks but not the bombs.
  20. Added a name last night for shits and giggles. Really liking the 1 man army masks
  21. For the blue I used Vallejo air #71.300 glossy sea blue(which is not glossy) white is Vallejo #70.929 cold white. Or just white #70.950 the red took some trial and error on my spitfire first. I ended up using mission models acrylic mmp-013 red oxide and of course the 1 man army 1/24 scale masks.
  22. Moving closer to the finish line. Finished painting the underwing roundels and side squadron letters. I also repainted the prop spinner medium blue for the squadron this aircraft is in instead of the dark red I had painted it. I need to paint the fuselage stripe and plane ID serial number next. I also have to paint and install the underwing rockets and maybe the two 44 gallon fuel tanks
