  1. Tried my hand at making the plywood seat look convincing… I’ll redo the leather seat back from brown to black leather
  2. A little more while camping in the rv. tried my hand at making the seat look like plywood. I’ll redo the brown leather seat back to black leather tho.
  3. Just finished the hellcat and decided the spitfire will be before the typhoon or P-47. just getting some rough painting done for now.
  4. Added the 500lb bombs and 5 inch rockets, now I’m done!
  5. I definitely need to refine my spring loaded antenna line retaining line though
  6. My 1/24 airfix hellcat is finally finished. I’m still going to add the rockets and 1- 500lb bomb. Maybe another coat of clear.
  7. Pretty much done now,, I do want to add the rockets and one 500lb bomb. Maybe later.. I’ll post some pics in the finished forum.
  8. More progress and a question to you! I've painted the main color and the stars/bars. Do I now spray the pledge clear on it now before applying the detail decals?? I used Vallejo acrylic primer and top coat.. I still have some detail painting to finish up yet
  9. The pup is getting bigger!
  10. We’ll, a couple torn retinas, eye surgery, my wife’s bad pneumonia then we both get a bad dose of COVID, I’m finally back to my hellcat!! This is the first time I’ve used masks to paint insignias on my models. I think it turned out well. Practice will make perfect!
  11. Devils in the details!!! Fantastic!!!!
  12. Been down due to some eye problems!! Hopefully I’ll be able to see well enough to get busy on all these models soon!! on the internal colors, I know this f6f-5 should be all gloss sea blue, I’ve built several already and I think I’m bored with the single color. I’m usually a “accurate “ builder but I’ve always wanted to have a three or four color hellcat… still not sure what I’m going to do
  13. Another modeler to watch for tips on improving my skills!! Artist for sure
  14. Oh my gawd, it’s been a while since I pístese.. having a puppy to train and a wired with pneumonia kinda slowed me down. I’ve got the wings done, one folded and one flat. Machine guns and bays built. I also received my airfix 1/24 scale mk9 spitfire and poster too! It’s on the pile with my typhoon, hurricane and p-47 to do yet! I replaced the empty shell casing shoots with some plastic channel that I melted.
  15. About 6 or 7 years ago myself and 100 other lucky people were bused to Paul Allen’s workshop in arlington wash. To see his me 262 as it was at that time. Beautiful restoration. I was surprised at how small it seemed and how smooth it was. There was also a original engine on a stand beside it. They said that the engines wore out a every 6-8 hours or so due to the heat they produced. the pilot, steve Hinton was there and talked about flying it and some of Paul’s other restored aircraft too very cool to get up and sit in it even though we each only got about a minute in the office!! . Off to the side of the warehouse there was a heinkel 111 with its wings sitting beside it. They tried to keep us from looking at the bomber but they weren’t too successful!!
  16. I just looked at this and wow!! Great job
  17. Great job on the hinges but man, you really knocked it out of the park on that engine!!!! The belts too!!!
  18. Looks great. It’s nice to see modeling these warbirds in other formats!
  19. The solid wire does look good in this scale, I actually debated using wire instead of the anzy line anyway even thinking the solid wire looked more realistic in 1/24 scale too. Looks fantastic
  20. Looks great! Just worn enough
