  1. Really cool subject!! Skillfully done
  2. Great looking mustang!! Great weathering tips too. On my airfix 1/24 scale and my upcoming p-47 I use a mix of bare metal foil for some panels and metallic buffing paints for other panels.
  3. Looking great!! I also used the anyz braided lines for spark plug wires and black braided for some oil lines on my 1/24 scale hellcat. I wish I would have used the spark plugs too!! They really pop
  4. Looks great!! Any work beats no work
  5. Peter, completely understand, I’ve undergone over 20 major orthopedic surgeries and always thought modeling is a good therapy to have in all those “down” days.. the frustration of just everyday pain and lack of mobility combined with a “temper” sometimes ended with a model ending with far more pieces than the kit began with.. many kits thrown across the room for premature flight tests. I always come back after a time tho and I’m sure you will too! Hang in there buddy mike (irishman1)
  6. The intake pipes on the rear of the engine are one piece, two into one. The exhaust are all two pieces you have to glue together except for two single straight ones, one on each side. the top picture (someone’s else’s build) shows the one piece intakes and the bottom is mine with the one piece intakes installed with two of the two piece exhaust pipes in place
  7. My new puppy, Sansa with the old big brother, chosen. And a few more engine pics. Need to do some weathering now
  8. We got a new little puppy so my modeling has been slowed down but here’s a little more progress on the engine and oil tank
  9. Beautifully done! Here’s mine, did it around 2000
  10. Beautiful! I’m going to redo my 1/24 airfix 190 after seeing your job here!!! Inspiring
  11. Love the warbird unlimited racers!! Can’t wait to see
  12. Truly amazing craftsmanship here!!! I am so inspired by your skills. Can’t wait for more!!!
  13. Great model snd canto detailing by you! Very inspiring..
  14. Wow!! Those are some gap’s
  15. Great work! Getting ideas to use on my big typhoon!!
  16. I’m going to make a spray booth like this
  17. Here’s the supercharger air plenum with a little grime on it, not sure how much wear this bird will have
  18. More progress on the engine, it’s like a kit all in its own. The exhaust pipes are all in two pieces and need to be filled and sanded before installing. They do fit well though. I’ve dirtied it up a little but will wait until the engines more complete before detailing it out
  19. Fascinating to watch as I remember vac kits when I was young. True skill!
  20. I’m building the airfix hellcat right now. It’s over on the “work in progress “ forum here on this site. Next up is the airfix typhoon and sitting next to it is the kenetic P-47 in 1/24.
  21. All told, 2 years
  22. Finally making progress on the engine, I removed the copper wire fuel transfer pipes and installed the kits plastic ones. Cut and placed the anzy braided ignition wites(which I may redo as the length seems too long). Here’s where I’m at. im sitting in my motorhome at the table working on the hellcat while my wife’s out for a forest run!
  23. A but more work in progress. Getting the engine together before detailing it out. I have anzy ignition cables ( might not use) and more fine painting to fo as well but the canvas is getting close! for the oil lines I’m using solid wire covered with heat shrink and rolled foil for hose clamps
  24. I grew up in Spokane!!
