One-Oh-Four Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Ey John! Good to see you here, too! Looking super! Cheers, Erik.
NOVAModeler Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Looks fantastic! I am tempted to get one of these, but know it will keep me busy for a year minimum.
harvey boyer Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Excellent my friend ! I have the A-1J in the stash............Harv
Matt_ Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Wow Nice to this one finished..... Oil staining is very well portrayed.... Matt
mikec Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 ..Greetings Tiger; Very nice Sky Raider .................... . Very impressive weathering on the centerline external. It looks like she took a dump. You may want to take her in for a check-up, and find out why she can't hold her oil. Very nice weathering on the rest of the A/C. One could always put some bullet holes in the cowl. This would explain the excess oil. Mike . . .
FrankC Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 . .... Very nice weathering on the rest of the A/C. One could always put some bullet holes in the cowl. This would explain the excess oil. FYI - No bullet holes are required.. Actually the SPAD leaked oil like a sieve and the amount shown on the model isn't at all out of line. I'm working on the J model - great job! .
harvey boyer Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Yep. Basically they were an oil can with a hole in it. Very good weathering............Harv
royboy Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 The Spad was well known to be a big leaker of oil, my friend (US Navy ret'd - ex Spad Driver) told me that when out on missions he'd be paying a lot more attention to the oil gauge rather than the fuel one due to it's enormous appetite! Any model of this aircraft should always show oil leakage in large proportions, Tigger has it right and it's quite normal to look as he's depicted.
Showtime 100 Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Hope you like her? John Very nice work, dude! Love the oil stains on the fuel tank! 1
