It's OK now, but I had a bulge on one side, which caused the upper deck to Not fit.

AND there is a fault in the instructions. It gives the wrong number for the left engine cover.

So I took a guess and painted the wrong part. Ah well...

Wowwwwwww, Jeroen.

Completely missed this build. Found it looking at the entries in the GB.

Congrats for the job, like your seat  and the engine......

Cheers,

Jamme

Hi Grant,

It is!

All this HGW PE really slows you down. You can only respect the added detail of the service details after painting.

It eliminates the moulded on look.

And getting ready to close it all up.

I will leave one cowling plate off and leave one wheel without covering, showing the spokes.

Not finished yet? ;)

I've always been in two minds about the surface detail part of the HGW sets. The moulded plastic looks sharp enough to me, so I look forward to seeing this with some loz and paint.

Yes, this is a magnificent build on the Fokker D.VII Jeroen.  I'll be watching this one from the land of OZ.

I also like Doug Craner's props, he does excellent work.

Happy Landings

Steven Robson

p.s.  I have lots of wheel porn for Grant, oh, only if he's over 18.

p.p.s.  Someone please give Martin a tissue. :)

Well, better give a tissue too! I think I just pissed myself!

Here's a shot of the deck. The AK Interactive chipping agent leaves far smaller and more delicate chips than hairspray can achieve.

Here with some oil. Next up: painting the fasteners Brass (not copper James!) and the leather combing.

Thnx Martin, Jamme, Bertl!!

And here's the prop progress on my own prop.

I worked it over with varnish. Polished it, varnished it, polished it. Just added the two Niendorf decals and working on the hub now. Needs one more part.

Then one more thin coat of varnish to close the decals in and one more polish. (No, the hub is not glued yet :)

More modelling porn !!! (I'm only slightly over 18 years Steven, so I reckon I'm allowed to watch after the watershed :D )

This a great stuff Jeroen as always - time after time you produce "Top Title" worthy models is now becoming sickening - would you please make a mistake to prove you are mortal afteral !!!

Hi Grant,

Yesterday I was really struggling with the fit of the cowling. All my own doing I must add. Some extra weathering in certain areas will obscure my mistake. I hope..

Here's where I was going for with the prop. Shiny, but not too shiny. Added a little bit of Tamiya yellow to the varnish. Thnx James!

Loving that finish and the HGW hub. Surely into the final straits soon? You should do a DH.2 to follow this ;)

Thnx james,

I started some base paint on the rear fuse. It will be white.

Discovered the seam was not completely gone yet....

Your D.VII is without doubt the finest on LSM at the moment, and certainly the only one worthy of a reply. You are a GOD!
