That looks sick, did you use the Quinta studio 3D decals?

Mostly kit decals, but I cut apart a Quinta set for a couple small details that added to it. Just individual details, though.

OK, I figured I’d put MY posts onto MY thread.

Rule #1:  don’t post anything while inebriated.

Had a couple hours of non allocated time tonight where I got to actually build some.
This kit is positively amazing.  The level of detail is stunning, plus, it’s accurate as well.
There are a few overly goofy parts breakdowns such as the K36 bang seat and the engine pods.
Plus, and probably worst of all are the instruction book.  It’s extremely vague regarding parts placement, etc.  Think Fly Models Wessex and Dragon’s Bf-110.  You’ll need to do your research and no enough about the actual aircraft to be sure of where some stuff goes.

Pit looks sweet, One thing I would do is to add air brake before adding the nozzles. I had a decent gap in there and it is a tricky place to work at.

Thanks for the tip. Well taken and Wilco.

I really don’t like having stabilators in place now. They’re extremely fragile and seriously in the way.
One thing I did notice is that according to pics, the spine strikes ahead of the fins are reversed in the instructions.  I cross reference it with pics and three views and those two parts need to be reversed.

Martin did warn me about the fit issues with the speed brake boards and the Mother of All Gaps being present between the boards and the fuselage, so, I had a little look.

Both upper and lower boards are used open or closed, and like many models, they are best used open. Ifclosed, the gap appears.   A close look finds a 1/32 extra filler piece molded in the front of all 4 hinges, so it’ll provide a stronger anchor when open.  Trim the front 1/32 off, recontour the hinges, and Bob’s your Uncle. They fit.   BUT… now you need to thin the internals to clear the Donkey Dong, otherwise they’ll sit proud.
I could have spent more time fitting them, but I just blew through it and just did a press fit. This is the result and where I’m gonna leave it.

Haha, not even close. But I bought a set of digital masks for this model from DN Models in Bulgaria. I’m going to build right up to that point and then stop to wait for them to arrive.
Im having a lot of fun building this, and it’s heartening to see the plethora of builds on this Group Build.

Thanks for the heads-up on the para pack fairing. I just got the Slovak Tiger Meet version of the kit so that'll come in handy.

DN Models are great. They've done several custom masks for me at very reasonable prices.

Can't wait to see how the digital camo turns out.

No problem.

The speed brakes sit 1/32” too far back when closed and leave a 1/32” gap between them and the fuselage when installed closed. Look closely at the attachment points and you’ll see about 1/32” of plastic on the hinge attachment part that is past a very slight mold line. Just snip that off on all 4 hinges and then sand off all the internal detail on the brake boards.  Then they’ll install perfectly. Martin’s the one who cautioned me on the fit. He used Evergreen to fill the gap, I went the other way.

Tomato. Tomato…..
