Hey JohnB,

I see it now.  Since the Trumpeter has more "cheek" one way is to grind out a (approx 1/8") channel at the top of the cowl centerline and pinch.

It looks like you may have joined things together so this will be hard even with a dremel and grinding wheel.

Good luck.  My hat is off for giving this project a go!

Yep! Sure bit off a lot! LOL

Pretty cool transformation!!

Agreed but certainly not a walk in the park. I haven't yet addressed the problem with the contour mismatch but I guess I'll get to it when I have a pause in the Hurricane build. Not particularly looking forward to it as it looks to have a bit of cuss factor involved. 🙄

I figured that problem might be there before I started but decided to go on and give it a shot. Not impossible to fix but certainly not a easy thing to do.

You're making some mighty nice progress on a tough conversion, with some fierce looking miss-matches. Me, I'm the last to offer advice on such matters, but I tend to go the middle route, build up the lower areas a bit and sand the areas higher areas as well. May not be perfect but seems to be an easier road to follow.:construction:

Amazing work ... some mighty nice work.:construction:

Thanks Peter. I don't think the Trumpeter nose section looks quite "right". A bit too "bulbous" but there's nothing I can do about that. It should be a little "flatter" on the sides. I'll post a couple of shots of it sitting next to one of my "F" builds using the Grey Matter nose and we'll see how they compare.

Take a peek at these photos and compare. The difference doesn't jump out at you but if you look close you can see there is a little difference. Not a LOT but enough. At least enough that I can see it. Maybe the "L" will look okay after painting the camo and attaching the prop/spinner and exhausts. We will see! 🙃

You're on a roll for sure and looking mighty good.

Seems we keep the same insane, wee early morning, sleepless hours and are at the bench 'grinding' away. :construction:

I had doubts this build would ever get this far but it has and I'm pleased with it. Now that the undersides are painted I'll start on the uppers. :)
