I don’t have a WIP unfortunately, but after being hit by a monsoon these last several days, I did lay some light passes of the base camo for Douglas Bader’s early kite ZD D.
Tomorrow we break out the shades and get to work.

This kit is an absolute joy to build.  It’s positively marvelous.

Awesome progress and I had no idea you were also working on the Kotare kit. Whose paints did you use, as the colors look spot on? I'm going with Tamiya acrylics and following Kotare's color callouts to the Tee.

What a great choice for the markings.

Peter, I mixed my own.  The Dark Earth started as that, and I doctored it up some.  It’s Gunze.

The green started as Tamiya XF-81 and I doctored it up some.  Silver bottom is a Tamiya enamel, black is Gunze RLM66 doctored up with some Cowling Color, the white is Character white with some light grey added

Thanks Ernie,

Good to know how you altered the mix. I decided to go with the color callouts in the instructions but to use the 'faded' mixes they suggest - will be interesting to see how they match up to your mixes.

I'm looking at my next build, going all Mr Color as well, as tey are incredible paints and I love the finish they yield - the instructions for that kit color callouts are all Mr Color .. I'll be a happy camper.

All goes well, I'll be painting by the end of next week.

I normally shoot MRP straight from the bottle and nearly neck and neck is Mr Color. When it comes to shooting a gloss color/finish - there is Mr Color and then everyone else.
