GunnarO Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 There’s a reason why the canons stick against the instrument panel. Look at the bottom cover with the two round covers on it. Removable for access to the cannon breech blocks. 4 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 8, 2024 Author Administrators Posted May 8, 2024 Thnx Gunnar, in the meantime i’ve moved on to the wingtip lights. Drilled a hole on the inside and filled it woth Alclad transparent red. Added a shim to make sure the light is not flush with the leading edge. This is because it was flush with the closed slat. Since i have my slats extruded, the light should protrude. 10
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 13, 2024 Author Administrators Posted May 13, 2024 So i spent an afternoon searching the net for Leonard H Bartlett’s plane but couldn’t make sense of it. Serial number P7111, but i saw this plane was either 137th squadron’s SF-E or belonged to 263 squadron. Asked Gunnar and both are correct. Just found this profile in a book i have explaining it. So. This will be the plane I’m making. Bartlett’s plane, along with his signed photograph. 10
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 20, 2024 Author Administrators Posted May 20, 2024 Working on the spar that holds the engine mounts. This will close up the front in this area. 10
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 22, 2024 Author Administrators Posted May 22, 2024 First test print 8
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 22, 2024 Author Administrators Posted May 22, 2024 Fit looks fine. I’ll sand the spar thinner, but not too thin, since it will carry the weight of the engine 8
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 24, 2024 Author Administrators Posted May 24, 2024 Wasn’t happy with the firewalls. The shape is perfect, but they were just too pronounced and thick. Just printed some new ones. Curing in UV light now. IMG_7237.mov 6
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 25, 2024 Author Administrators Posted May 25, 2024 Fitted the firewalls. The new 3D prints are perfect. 10 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 28, 2024 Author Administrators Posted May 28, 2024 In the order of things i should first polish, rescribe and re-rivet the wings before i install the gondola’s. 7
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 30, 2024 Author Administrators Posted May 30, 2024 A whole lot of fitting. Took some sanding and elbow grease to fit the nose guns. And took some more persuasion to fit the first gondola! 10
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted June 2, 2024 Author Administrators Posted June 2, 2024 More serious clamping going on.. 8

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted June 8, 2024 Author Administrators Posted June 8, 2024 The signed photo arrived. Now to think of a base to hold this. 8
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted December 24, 2024 Author Administrators Posted December 24, 2024 Time to Pick this up. Attached the wings to the fuselage and started to replace lost rivets and panellines. The extended slats really add some drama to the wings. Love it. 8
Martinnfb Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Jeoren your dedication and hard work is beginning to show the real complexity of this airframe, splendid. 1 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted December 25, 2024 Author Administrators Posted December 25, 2024 Started work on the Vacuform canopy. The windshield is amazing. Perfect fit. Sturdy and super clear. 6
HubertB Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Amazing progress. Re. the canopy : is it your own vac-form or an AM part ? Hubert 2

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted December 26, 2024 Author Administrators Posted December 26, 2024 Worked on the radiator flaps. Tricky photo etch to fold, but came out nice. 8
KevinM Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 Now you see the need for the fold ...Nice !! 3 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted December 27, 2024 Author Administrators Posted December 27, 2024 The high tech version of this kit offers a beautiful 3d printed control column. Only thing lacking is the prominent gun camera button. I made this from some photo etch and stretched cotton bud plastic. 9
