JohnB
Just for grins, I decided to see if I could come up with enough leftover parts from my Hasegawa P-40 builds to try to assemble a near complete model. I've been able to get together most of what's needed but am still missing a few pieces but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I was surprised that I had so many parts left over that I could use! I'll have to construct a rear fuselage "plug" to get the tail piece to attach. Oh what fun!!! LOL

I think it's likely I won't be able to come up with some of the needed parts but I'll carry it as far as I can. The main part I haven't been able to dig up so far is the gear/wing knuckle piece (part #A28) for the right wing. Maybe someone here can send me one? 🙄
HubertB
Van’t help you with this one, John, otherwise the part would be on its way ! Can you scratchbuild one from a leftover bomb or extra tank ? The other option, if you have the dimensions and profile, is for me to design and print a part. But, by the time you get it, you will have finished three more Corsairs 🤣 ! Hubert 2

PanzerWomble
Sometimes people sell single sprues on ebay , if you know what you are looking for that might be an option ?

JohnB
Rear fuselage "fix" nearly done. It just needs a little more smoothing out in spots. I think the next move is to put the cockpit back in and then attach the fuselage to the wing/nose assembly. I looked on ebay to see if I could find someone selling the sprues that have the needed parts on them. No luck.

If I can find something to use for the right wing LG knuckle cover I think it will do alright. Fingers crossed!
Martinnfb
John, I would suggest to use Tamiya's two part resin putty, it is a great material to sculp with. That knuckle is basically just a blob that should be fairly easy to form.

JohnB
Gluing in some "base" strip plastic that I will spread putty over and sand to shape. I'll see about the "knuckle" piece after that is done.
JohnB Posted yesterday at 07:10 PM Author Share Posted yesterday at 07:10 PM I used a piece of a drop tank to make the knuckle cover. Far from perfect but better than nothing.
HubertB Posted yesterday at 07:29 PM Share Posted yesterday at 07:29 PM Looking god from here. Some small issues visible, but nothing that putty and sanding can’t solve Hubert
