FullArmor Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 More weathering done. I tried to concentrate areas where crew would be moving most. And also co-axial firing blast would be. I don't know if this is too much, but I have noticed that in 1/16 scale one must be braver, otherwise the end result will be too tame. 10
FullArmor Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 I am happy with end results. 🙂 This picture illustrates how small frontal area turret has. Difficult to hit and if adversary would happen to hit turret it likely would be absorbed by special armor. a few more things to finish before tackling massive undertaking to modify/paint/weather upper hull. Thank you all for your support👍 8
Bomber_County Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I’d say the weathering is perfect there is a very fine line to overdone, that’s probably me……. 4

Your build wip on other forum was my inspiration to tackle this build😄 Please sit down and watch this build. maybe I'll get at least partially as great a result as you. Thank you sir for your kind words. I try very hard to recreate what I see. I,ve been modeling for over 60 years and work at adding / improving my skills with each project. Barry 3 1

(I would like to see your abrams. Did you get it finished? Please share picture in this topic) 3
FullArmor Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 I had to do little bit of detective work. Trumpeter wanted this CITV shield facing back. I noticed that this wire conduit(black in picture) leads nowhere. Now they line up well👍. Also this shield was too small and not curved. I am working on how to mount this properly. 8
BlrwestSiR Posted February 6 Posted February 6 If you want a second kit, BNA has it for 50% off for the next 24 hours. $133 CAD which is an absolute steal. https://www.bnamodelworld.com/military-vehicles-tanks-trumpeter-models-tr-00927-1:16-us-m1a2-sep-main-battle-tank-mbt 2 1
FullArmor Posted February 6 Author Posted February 6 There is someking of antenna(GPS?) mounted on top this CITV shield. New shield and antenna. 7
FullArmor Posted February 6 Author Posted February 6 New hinges for Gunner's Primary Sight cover. There is quite large gap below the doors. But i have noticed that in real tank also. I'll see if I can reduce that gap. 8

DocRob Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Impressive work, FA. I like really like your weathering technique, which seems simple to do, but meriting great results. Maybe it´s not that simple, but you make it look like . You seriously started modelling in 23. Cant wait to see what you do in lets say 10 years. Cheers Rob 3 1

Maybe in 10 years i have proper dedicated work space and i can invest in some airbrush kit. Now i am using rattle can paints and brushes only. 2
FullArmor Posted February 6 Author Posted February 6 Front CIP. In picture corners look black, but they are dark green. I do not apply heavy weathering on these because in pictures these seem allways very clean. Maybe light dust effect at most. 7
BlrwestSiR Posted February 6 Posted February 6 The extra details you're adding are really impressive. I wouldn't have thought that you're doing this without an airbrush. 3

FullArmor Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 a few additions to turret. Smoke launchers, basket, blow out panel, and conduit covers. There is one detail missing underneath. There should be louver for VCSU. Maybe i'll add it later. 8
FullArmor Posted February 9 Author Posted February 9 Small update. Added tow cables. And front CIP. In natural light my weathering does not seen so extreme. This end piece wanted to split in half. It is impossible to fix anymore. So i will keep it as is. Crack seems realistic, but i do not know is this possible in real life. There will be end piece to this aft end, but it's not ready yet. 6 1
FullArmor Posted February 9 Author Posted February 9 These tow cables are slightly larger than should, because these are from henglong rc leopard. And modified with stock plastic parts. 3
