Guest styrenedemon Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Looking very impressive. I'll be looking into that AK stuff. That's exactly the look I'd like to achieve. I just haven't been able to do it with any techniques I've tried.
harvey boyer Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 OMG, can't believe I haven't posted on this ! Wonderful work, as always, my friend ! Love the weathering.....Harv !
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 20, 2013 Author Administrators Posted May 20, 2013 Thnx guys, I covered the exhaust stacks with liquid fluid. The vallejo version is very thin. A bit difficult to remove, but perfect for tight spots. Cheers, Jeroen
Administrators James H Posted May 20, 2013 Administrators Posted May 20, 2013 What a great looking model! I'm very much looking forward to seeing this sprout wings. That MG on the side is just mad, and the weld detail etc. Totally love it, and I love you too. 1
Jeroenveen1 Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Superb work Jeroen! What grey color did you use on the prop?

Grant Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Boys, get a room LOL Cees OMG, How do you "unthink" an image like that ??!! Thanks Cees!! Fantastic job on the model Jeroen - that chipping detail is so subtle ! Fantastic. 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 21, 2013 Author Administrators Posted May 21, 2013 Hi Jeroen, I used three greys. All mr Hobby. A bit darker towards the edges. But mostly medium grey satin. Hi Doogs, I added a lot of water to the AK. It's way too thick not to. I believe 2/3 water 1/3 AK. Nice stuff. I'll look out for your... Latex! Cheers, Jeroen
Grant Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Hi Doogs, I'll look out for your... Latex! Cheers, Jeroen I've just looked and Amazon have it .. I assume the Dutch equivalent will too but presumably it'll be orange latex.
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 21, 2013 Author Administrators Posted May 21, 2013 Wow! Did you make those Mig21's?? 1/144?
Grant Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I checked and found exactly that stuff on Amazon. ... I suppose (I assume) you could check the NZ equivalent.
Grant Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Yep, did 'em last fall - Eduard's 1/144 MF Dual Combo. Highly recommended as a quick rejuvenation build! Wait to you see my review of the dual combo Spitfire Mk.ix's. they're absolutely gorgeous and match their bigger brothers beautifully.
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 25, 2013 Author Administrators Posted May 25, 2013 Hi all, some more progress. My least favorite part. Repeating sequences...
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 25, 2013 Author Administrators Posted May 25, 2013 First coat of paint on ze wings. Got some 1,5mm tape at the Airbrush store today, so next up: masking the ribs.
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 25, 2013 Author Administrators Posted May 25, 2013 Thnx George, No worries. I've got a permit! Here's some more tedious work:
Wingco57 Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 George, He can't help it, he has huge hands. Wow Jeroen, very subtle staining there, you still move fast. Cees
