Frank, this may help, not sure if you know about it or not, but it may fuel some thoughts for you................

Jeff

Jeff,

Thank you for the link.  It is a massive wealth of information.  I have spent a ton of time there and did my interior based off many of the pictures.  I continually get lost in places like this.  I go to look at a part color or position and divert for an immeasurable amount of time.  My models take longer now as I wonder about in the information mass.  Good stuff!!

Better late than never...in most cases.  :D

Other future participants for the D-Day Diorama.  Painted and awaiting a final decision on the overall paint scheme. This will be my first diorama ever.  As such, I may build other smaller "proof of concept" builds to ensure the success of this effort.  More to come....

My proof of concept build for the D-Day diorama is going to be my test build of a Sherman M4A1W 76mm.  The M4 has been my test bed for oils and other weathering techniques.  The M4 is still very much getting the details worked out.  I intend to create a vignette of the M4 moving through the French Bocage with the turret canted (more than it is now, closer to 90 degrees) to the right in search of a far away target.  It will be on a muddy road with a break in the bocage providing a hull down position.  I have never been to the bocage.  The internet shows a deep brown almost grey/black dirt/mud in some pictures, and in others a dirt that is more red. So we will work that out.  Once I have hammered out the issues in my first ever vignette, I will move on to the German vehicles and diorama.

There will be plenty of foliage.  Should be fun.  Its something I have always wanted to do...
