B-29 interior reference..

heh.... thanks for sharing!  That would have been useful on the B-29 that I almost completed in 1/48 a few years back.

For a built model, Tom Probert built a 1/32 ID vac. Probably visible here or on LSP. 

As for the build and the end result, this is a perfect illustration of the famous sow’s ear and silk purse story

I did indeed build the ID Models kit a few years back and as the entire interior had to be scratch-built I did lots of research - do ask if you have any questions as I became particularly familiar with the internal details of the B-29. 
 

There will be a build thread on LSP and Britmodeller somewhere (wasn’t a member we here back then) but I’m not sure if the photos survived the photobucket debacle.

Interesting rippling along the fuselage, I haven't seen many like this one, maybe most WW2 images had almost factory fresh deliveries

Rippling that bad and being on jack stands....  pretty sure that machine was completely structurally compromised.  TBH...  Can;t say I've ever noticed any tin-canning on an in-service B-29.

Could that have been a result of a heavy landing buckling the fuselage?

I doubt that AA could do that without pepering the hull with holes, regards Iain

Looks as if there is no tail on that plane.

Rippling like that may be from ground explosions.
