One-Oh-Four
Hi guys, Does anyone know if and where I can get a loose LL-sprue from Tamiya's Spitfire Mk.XVIe? I need the cannon bulges to make a highback Spit Mk.XVIe... Cheers! erik.
PAnderson
I ordered extra sprues for my Tamiya Spit. Local hobby shop ordered them for me. Took about 3-4 weeks. Paul
Guest Kagemusha
Alley Cat make an E wing set http://www.a2zeemodels.co.uk/spitfire-mk-ix-e-wing-conversion-set-5518-p.asp
nmayhew
Alley cat conversion is incomplete Look at the XVIe instructions on HobbySearch website and you will see AlleyCat conv does not have panels underneath, which are in fact quite different (This is also why the PCM Spitfire IXe is not an e - in case you think that is a way around it )
One-Oh-Four
Thanks guys! As for using PCM parts; those panels don't feature the curve of the upper wing so that was a route I wasn't really ready to travel...
One-Oh-Four
Contact Tamiya or your regional distributor. It's totally doable but you may be in for a wait. Heheh, we don't have a regional distributor anymore. The Dutch importer ceased importing Tamiya. The importer is now the German importer; Dickies. I see that a lot of LHS's have trouble getting Tamiya kits now. Can also be because a lot of small LHS's have unified aligned themselves in the TechnoHobby Mutual acquirement organisation, whereby they have less influence over what they (as single) shop get... Maybe try the Aviation Mega Store near Amsterdam...

aderowlands
I use goldstar stockists for Tamiya parts here in the UK. Simple enough process and usually have the parts in a week or two.

aderowlands
Sorry, forgot I'd posted in this thread. Yes, thats them. Zip to the bottom of the page to where it says unlisted tamiya parts then on the new page fill in the request form. I've always had an answer within 48hrs. You do need a copy on the instructions with the sprues reference number though, usually on the back page on the instructions.
