  1. Great! You pulled the rivet detail out very convincingly, nice affects on the staining too . it really looks the part. And you say a pleasure to build enough said. I have started mine, I will pop a little extra detail and correction as you have no big deal. 1st spit

  6. Great progress, looking very neat. Cees is there anything you have found that needs sorting for fit, yours looks seamless
  7. Thank you all for the great feedback. Bevan I look forward to seeing your next work. Ophthoidoug, great questions my mixes are mixed lighter then the colours i am trying to copy. My washes at the end blend these colours they also darken them. Wash mix 1 sludge mix black, brown pastel various shades. Wash mix 2 enamel black/brown (humbrol) pin wash, the 2 mix is also blended with brush down the side (darker to lighter to the tail) I blend with white spirit very lightly. Holts grey primer (auto spray paint) very smooth finish. Good plastic preparation before I spray. RLM 74 mix tamiya acyclic = XF-22 + XF-1 /approximately 80:1 this mix is the Base mix, XF-63 added to lighten if required. RLM 75 mix tamiya acyclic = XF-19 + XF-1 approximately 80:1,now I add my violet mix which is tamiya XF-7 & XF-8 =1drop. RLM 76 mix tamiya acyclic =XF-2 x1 jar + X5 between 5 and 8 drops (looks peppermint green when mixed) again Base mix, I will add XF-63 to darken if required. All mixes are tweaked very slightly either darker or lighter. Once mixed I use Mr. Color LEVELING THINNER 50/50 approx. All washes are applied after I have airbrushed humbrol Clear gloss varnish The satin is Humbrol spray can. I am still tweaking these but these are getting very close to what I am after. Hope this helps you. Darren
  8. I know that feeling, you may find painting it this way gives you different opinions. Looking forward to rlm 75.

  16. Well done plastic to wood, magical.
  17. Amazing work, it's coming together very impressively.
  18. Wow that wood effect is spot on. I have tried two methods to simulate wood 1st was a mix I came up with, this was tried by a couple of guys on this site. But didn't work out for them so this has been shelved. The second was a garden fence treatment, very much like a coloured varnish used similar techniques to you, great if you're looking for a quick affect. But your finish looks so convincing great job, love the map.
  19. Painted and weathering underway, still have canopy and prop spinner to do, but very pleased with the save on both dashboard screen and front windshield, sorry just a couple of quick pics. Should finish up by this weekend....
  20. Great build, would it of taken off from that platform?
  21. Hi all a quick update. Had a problem with the cockpit dashboard screen, cut away area as instructed and replacement part was just not big enough ie. Width. So I made one to replace it. Screen demister pipe work added, flap indicators added, inboard cartridge and clip ejector detail added and have started paint and markings. Here goes....
