Just got the gear legs and skis back from my friend who owns a higher end printer than I do - the clear blue is a test of a “tough” resin that is supposed to be much stronger. Strangely that resin is somewhat flexible but I’m thinking this is actually a good thing. Ernie gets to make the axles and supporting struts for the MLG that connect to the bottom edge of the fuselage. Ernie - this and the cf100 will be in the mail for you any day now!

For those keeping track at home, a 1/32 Vulcan has a wingspan coming in at 37 1/8 inches (94.3 cm) and only slightly shorter than this in length.

Canuck isn't big enough! I've just bought the design file for a 1/32 Vulcan! The model is designed as a ducted fan radio-control model so the intakes will need to be rerouted, but aside from that it looks to be a SUPERB representation of the Vulcan. Will share photos once it's been printed

Hey guys, if anyone has a 3d printer, this is a model you can buy on CG Trader for $20 at the link below and print at home to your hearts content. The designer scaled the -100 to 1/72, all I did before printing that model was to combine parts in Meshmixer to maximize how many parts I could fit on the printer at once, and then scale everything by 225% to put it at 1/32 scale :-) Cost of the plastic to print it was about $12 and the the total print time was around 45 hours. For that time and financial investment, this thing is a damn good starting point to make a detailed model! https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/miniatures/other/cf-100-avro-canuck-mk-5

I’m still pondering the gear leg design, there are some tough resins on the market that may be worth trying. Or I could just go crazy and design the struts without fairings and have shapeways print them in metal all nice and strong. Might be a good experiment!

No, mossie is much narrower and the Lanc bomb bay is probably three times the length of the mossie bay

With only one exception, all 1/32

[expletive] I spoke too soon. I just opened up the file to take a look at it. It is in what was a shared folder that my friend and I were using before Fusion changed their subscription model. Since he's the folder owner I cannot save the design back into my files to continue working on it. I could make adjustments to the design but none of them would save so i won't have a way to tweak the thing to make sure everything fits the model. I'm sorry Carl If I get some free time I wouldn't mind making the design again but right now I'm overextended with commitments for two aftermarket companies in addition to trying to speed through a build to help show off some new products being announced before long

I did the stepped bulged door in cad for the 8,000lb cookie on the Lanc Mk.ii but I don’t have a printer big enough to test print it.

What-If Reno Racer - A6M8 Zero. Potential Paint Schemes?
seiran01 replied to seiran01's topic in General Discussion
I’ve been thinking about a new canopy and trimmed wingtips, since you mention it. 4360 is a project for another day, and not for this plane. Drawing the Kinsei 62 was enough of a challenge for me - but here’s how things look before I sent them off to print. Now I just need to figure out how to add panel lines for my next project, I’ll be scribing them onto the cowl here. -
What-If Reno Racer - A6M8 Zero. Potential Paint Schemes?

These are some great ideas guys, thanks I've posted this on LSP as well, the rising sun theme seems popular over there too. Not sure I'm sold on doing that yet on the Zero, but it really does look stunning on the F2G! -
What-If Reno Racer - A6M8 Zero. Potential Paint Schemes?
seiran01 replied to seiran01's topic in General Discussion
Oh boy... Hard no on these suggestions! -
I'm going to be building an A6M8 in 1/32 scale, with a conversion I've designed. The new cowl with large air scoop on top and a Kinsei 62 radial engine are being 3d printed, and the more I look at the plane with that giant air scoop on top of the new cowl. So it's got me thinking, what about making one into a fictional Reno race plane? Does anyone have thoughts on what would make a great looking paint scheme on such a plane? This is the part where my creativity is severely lacking so I'm hoping some of you guys will have some fun and creative ideas Cheers! Mike

Hasegawa P-47 in a week?

Ern that control panel looks great! Is that the kit decal, or did you go and use something like Airscale dials or Yahu panel? -
Best 1/32 P-47 cockpit aftermarket for Hasegawa and Trumpy?

Google hasn't been as helpful as I'd like, so I'll ask here... Can anyone comment on the best option(s) for resin P-47 cockpits out there in 1/32 scale? I've heard the Avionix / Black Box set is good, but haven't heard much about the Aires pit which seems more available. Thinking non-corrugated floor as I'm planning on cobbling together a P-47M from a Hasegawa -D. How are the cockpits in the Trumpeter Razorback and -N? I have both these kits as well but haven't looked closely enough at the levels of detail... Do these "need" improvements, and are any available in resin as well? Excluding the Master Casters set as I don't care to correct the slightly misshapen windscreen. Thanks in advance! -Mike

DeHaviland aircraft you'd like in large scale?
seiran01 replied to Sir Desmond Glazebrook's topic in Modelling Discussion
LEM and HPH (in their upcoming plastic line) have both announced 1/32 Vampires :-) gimme that and good single seat Venom to fill those holes in my rnzaf stash. -
I see that Profimodeller has also released a bunch of decal sheets for 1/32 RAF / Coastal Command Liberators. Most are the mk.V, but I see at least one mk.III also (all would be based from the Hobby Boss B-24D kit). These can be seen on Profimodeller's website at http://www.profimodeller.com/kategorie/1:32-2/. I'm going to go out on a limb and hope they're doing resin rocket stub wings, Leigh light, and the B-P tail turret to make these fully accurate
