  1. Primer is possible. I guess it depends on how the slats work, powered or gravity. I always wonder about this. After listening to the Tank Museum chats about the qualitative shortcoming of (some) British tanks seems like they would have done whatever was easiest.
  2. I wouldn't trust that game as a reference for a moment.
  3. You can do the same thing with the cast off ends of stretched sprue. For free. 👍👍
  4. I remember getting and building a Monogram funny car, Snake or Mongoose, I don't remember, and it had a rubber band for the blower belt. The height of super detailing! I was so thrilled by that I put it on before the glue was dry and it pulled the blower off the manifold... I was so impatient. Lmao.
  5. Did something like this years ago with an Airfix 1/24 Spitfore for a Glad sandwich bag commercial. No pretty like your's, the Tamiya reduction box took up almost the entire nose of the spit. But it worked nice once it was all set up. And it was a big hit on stage. Everyone wanted to play with the power supply to rev the "engine". I have that spitfire around here somewhere still.
  6. Tamiya has a dedicated shop. Also check youtube video's. Quite a few showing the different shops.
  7. Missed these first go around on the P-39 even though they were staring me in the face from the ref pics... There is an inner panel that covers the inside of the wing and the inner gear door hinges. Should be hollow behind there but it's too late for that now. And I added receivers so gluing those doors on will be nice and clean. And I souped up the door map pocket, gave it a bit more dimension since that door will be open.
  8. This looks like an F1 sterile build bay compared to that other guys desk! Lamo.
  9. I love B 17's. My favorite of the "Heavies". Missed this first go around, but Eduard saw the sales and added more. So I picked it up on sale from Sprue Bros last weekend. And some more 1/72 109's cause I am having so much fun with them. Really nice little kits.
  10. Hopefully it had pro tooling makers...
  11. I don't understand how the tumbler "cleans " the parts without destroying the detail? Or, how that parts themselves tumbling doesn't wreck them.

    Mig-25 video

It's not ugly. It's very Russian though, and very much built for purpose. I love it.
  13. Watching this one. I don't like their kits too much myself, as the two I have both have some worrying flaws. So I won't spend $600+ (US)on one of these big ones. That won't stop me from cheering you on though. Not my Favorite Brabham, but it's an F1 car, so how bad can it be?
  14. I'm too flaky for build groups. I stop / start projects all the time when I feel like it. Which is nit great for getting stuff done on a schedule. That may be a side effect of having to get shit done everyday whether I felt like it or not in the movie / toy industry. Idk. But I would certainly watch one. Hint, hint. I love the whole Zerstorer idea. 210/410 particularly. And I have a little 1/72 Finemolds 410 that may be Yellow 7 from your decal sheet. I could pretend to build along! LMAO.
  15. These are aimed at studio scale models. So you would need to tweak them for say 1/72 scale Bandai / Fine mold kits. Otherwise they will be too dark.
  16. Better check the scale on that thing. Looks like it might be 1/35...
  17. Lmao. $3000 dollar engine, $800 dollar car.
  18. I watch the R/C crash video's on YouTube when I want to feel pain and suffering. My dad flew R/C planes. They never built any scale stuff though, for that very reason. It's a lot of work to write off.
  19. Someone needs to beat you with a micrometer... Just kidding.
  20. 427 Cobras were known to melt peoples sneakers because the exhaust passed so close to the aluminum floor panels.
  21. I think it is. The hood (Bonnet) has different ducts than I am used to seeing. Though I am no expert so maybe they are a different variant. Idk. Last one I heard sold at auction for 7.5 million, so I kind of doubt anybody is repainting them red.
  22. It etch's to metal, so it won't be any use on resin. It's much more toxic than modeling stuff, so take precautions. What I think you were trying to suggest is a two part epoxy primer which is agin no simple task as far as clean up and waste disposal but certainly better than an etch primer. Based on your comments it sounds like you didn't sand the resin, which is likely where the problem started.
  23. It shouldn't be red. Heresy.
  24. Amazing time capsule. Maybe you have seen it but with all the GT's being built lately it seems timely. Also, interestingly, there's a Cessna parked at the side of the track at Willow Springs. It really was the wild, wild west back then.
