  1. Wow, that's awesome! Keep up the great work, love this!
  2. Thanks! I will need to stick with my Tamiya one then.....cheers
  3. Hmm, that's interesting. I wasnt aware the Tamiya hook was too short? Is it too short for the Revell kit, or actually too short? I must look into this. Brilliant stuff cees, the puzzle (literally) is coming together....love it
  4. Yep, sometimes you have to go backwards to go forward. Good choice to do the surgery up there and keep that wing-fuse join tidy...good stuff.
  5. Man that looks good, those intakes look spot on size wise now...really well done! I just checked for you, I am sorry, no there are only the smaller Low-Viz ones that I will be using.... Keep the great work coming buddy, I just love this!
  6. Thats a great idea! Then you can really get in and sort those intakes out. Love 43 too, I'm doing the CO's aircraft in the overall greys and checkers on the fin only
  7. Yep, that sure is looking good mate. So an FGR.2 aye? Nice choice, What scheme have you decided on...or not yet? Keep it up, I need this build to keep me going too Cheers buddy Anthony
  8. My word, she has really gained the look of a Brit Toom.....I can really see the differences, more Brit than US now... Good show
  9. Nice one.... working with an airframe at this point is the part I love Keep it up Cees, loving this
  10. That looks like a tricky fix Cees....any ideas how to fix it?
  11. Another great update Cees, are you going to close the gap up between the engines at the back? I am thinking no one will ever know.... I have been a little sidetracked this weekend I promise to get back to the phantom soon!
  12. Great update Cees, Phunny how that happens. Phorever one of life's mystery's LOL Really coming along now!
  13. That looks brilliant mate! I wish I was at that point... you are a strong source of inspiration for me. Keep em coming Cees!
  14. Love every post to do with this build! Thanks for the update, I am always wondering where you are at....
  15. Will be a pleasure if I can help you in any way. Just love the fintip fairing on the Brit Toom, Gives quite a distinctive look. You are really capturing the shapes well. One of my favorite builds on line at the moment. Thanks for the inspiration!
  16. Great work on the lower wing and lower aux bays. All coming together very nicely now. Was there much size difference between the Revell Aux doors and the Tamiya ones? Yep, I plan on doing XV571 with the checkerboard fin (but not the spine-going to show it overpainted on my model in a slightly different shade) I have offered Derek all my spares from my WH Phantom, maybe if there is a scheme in there he dosent want I could send it to you. I have a feeling that decal set is still available from him?
  17. Yep, looking great Cees, That Aux intake door came up really really nice. that saves some work for sure! Pretty impressed at how this is coming together. What scheme are you planning? Cant remember if you mentioned it already?
  18. That's what I it thought looked like.....I never expected to see that! Even that ridge where the lower intake blends into the wing leading edge looks Spey, looking briefly at my photo's. I think I could have saved myself a lot of work, had I seen this earlier. Bravo Cees, I like your findings! I dont know much about those Revell kits. Maybe someone could chime in? Cheers Anthony
  19. Cees, if I am seeing this correctly, the Revell lower wing unmodified matches the modified intake profile of the widened intakes?? I should have started with a Revell kit I think??
  20. My word Cees, I cant get over the ability to cross kit these. Watch out for the heat area behind the reheat cans, they are a slightly different shape too (as I recently found out) Good work buddy
  21. Yep, Mike is one of the best! I am pleased to count him as a great friend, and treasure our friendship. Thats going to look amazing Ern....
  22. Careful with drawings Cees, I can already see a few mistakes. I am finding, photo's are the best way to go IMHO
  23. Lol, it's true it's true......next you will be telling me you built a Halifax cockpit in your spare time once! https://www.facebook.com/Austerwe552 I am working on the Phantom tonight before bed though.....happy??
  24. Well done mate, great thinking outside the box and agreed, a resounding success! Who would have thought? Brilliant job mate. Mines a bit slow this week as I have a few jobs on my T.7 Auster rebuild that I need to get onto. Great inspiration buddy!
  25. Well I'll be....thats brilliant mate! I never would have believed it had I not seen it. Which begs the question....is the Revell Kit a better option for a brit Toom? There seems to be as much work in converting the Tamiya one??? Lovely clean work by the way
