  1. Nicely done my friend! How does your modified lower wing fit now...I suspect probably pretty good??
  2. Nailing it Cees. That was definitely the way to go looking at it now....brilliant stuff mate. Plus you dont need to worry about that tricky insert piece above the cans either. Excellent thinking outside the box
  3. Me too Cees, probably why I have so many half finished projects I like the challenge of solutions and bouncing ideas off others....really enjoying this thread. Cheers Anthony
  4. Now we are talking Cees! That looks 100x better than Tamiya's back end. In fact the contours look more Spey than J-79 straight out of the box. Nice find with that Revell kit! Barry, you always seem to find such great info buddy! Loving watch this come together
  5. Cees you got this mate.....you look like you are getting quite close. Barry looks like he may have made some cuts down the sides? Perhaps you can graft in that Revell section??
  6. Yes, that's about what you thought it was? The photo I have with the tape across it shows exactly 39in
  7. At this stage all I can find is that the lip at the rear of the burner can is exactly 39inches in diameter
  8. Hi Cees I agree, collapse that shoulder down. The WH conversion appears (on the inside) to have had that done as well as bulked out at the sides. I have some measurements of the cans somewhere....I will look into it for you Cheers Anthony
  9. Now, that's what we're talking about! Great update Cees and those intakes look MUCH better! Nice ti see you moved those Aux doors in the belly forward too. One thing that might help is that that back end around the cans is quite rounded as you note. Here is the WH and kit to compare.....HTH
  10. Sorry Cees In actual fact I am learning from you by observing your skills. Such a great project and I don't know how I can contribute except say 'thanks for posting'. Problem is I feel like I might come off insincere....when that is far from the truth. By clicking on the 'like' I feel like I am letting you know I am enjoying your updates and following along. I do get what you mean though, my big 24th Mossie build on LSP is an enormous amount of work, and sucks the life out of me at times. Comments really do help spur me along! Please don't stop posting, I just LOVE your work. I especially cant wait for you to get back to the Phantom, but this Manchester is something else! I especially come to LSM at the moment specifically for this thread! Cheers Anthony
  11. Great work Ron as always buddy! Love every update and good on you for learning the Unigraphics. hats off Cheers Anthony
  12. I look forward to the time you come back to this Cees.....love what you are doing and loads of useful information on the differences. Even Wild Hare set needs 'tweaking'.
  13. Tooks like a Torbeau it is then..... Shame to cover that up! Did I mention 489(NZ) Squadron used torpedoes??? Actually a great book to read is "Strike, Strike and Strike again" about the Aussie and Kiwi Beaufighter Squadrons and how they worked together. Big brass ones they had! Better make sure you put 2 indents on the pilot's seat pad for that....LOL
  14. What's not to love about this build...just awesome! Maybe back to the RAF Phantom after this??? Keep up the inspiring work! Cheers Anthony
  15. Ron, this is awesome buddy! How you did that canopy without stuffing it up is beyond me and my skill set. Going to look amazing! 489(NZ) Beaus carried Torpedoes
  16. LOL.... Hey Ron I am not sure I am going to have a job after all of this Covid craziness, check to see if that other guy wants one still. If not then I will honor my word and buy it of course!
  17. Seriously though Ron, super awesome work....not that it matters what I say Hahahahah…….Oh dear I've been in lockdown too long!
  18. Awesome Ron! Love your work buddy! That Model Monkey stuff looks lovely Looking forward to the next installment!
  19. That's really nice!!! Love everything about your build!
  20. Yes it's amazing what can be recovered and cleaned up. I had a very rare and unusual bracket I needed for my Auster T.7 rebuild. I thought I would have to get a new one made off the drawing. Then I got one and thought it was too far gone. Once soda and garnet blasted I could not believe how it looked like new again! Wasn't structural, so was etched, primered and resprayed in 2K paint...looks a million dollars now. Actually you only have to see what the Barracuda guys are doing on FB, especially with the Solent wreck....quite amazing!
