  1. Hi Ron I cross-kitted the 2 Tamiya kits over on LSP (not finished as I have to paint it all now the conversion is done) There are several differences, too many for me to note here. But essentially I used the -5 fuse with -2 wings. -5 cowl modified to match the -3 as well as cowl flaps off -5 with cut outs filled in. It actually cross kits really well, a bit of jiggery at the fwd wingroot area as you have to graft a little piece of the -5 wing onto the -2 wing at the front for the correct cooler. Cheers Anthony
  2. Lovely update Peter! I have been looking forward to this one. Such precise and clean work.....love it! Cheers Anthony
  3. Me too mate! It's killed my mojo a couple of times too. I think I am ready to have another stab!
  4. Bob was a very good friend of mine and I visited him many times over the years (he lived about 10mins from my house at that time). Such a lovely humble guy, I am sure he would have been honored to know you built his plane. Reading this build....again! Has me digging my one off the Shelf of Doom. Lovely work and very inspiring! Cheers Anthony
  5. Yep, awesome build! I have enjoyed going back through this and then watching your video's. Now, I am supposed to be working on my Trumpeter RNZAF Skyhawk, but it is difficult to resist getting my 24th Mossie back out again! Great and inspiring work, thanks for pointing out the 'gotcha's', thoroughly enjoyable indeed Cheers Anthony
  6. Cool a Skyhawk.....one of my favorites!
  7. Hey Peter...I found you again! Lovely work on the Corsair buddy. That blue mix looks nice from where I sit. I know that feeling when you know what you want to achieve with a colour, if you didn't come up with your own mix it would have bugged you forever. I did that on a RNZAF 1/48 Tamiya kit exactly the same as you with the Blue, here's what I got. Keep up the great work!
  8. Really enjoying your build! I did the masters shapes for Roy and my good friend Kerry CAD'ed up a correct spinner for this new nose. Although not entirely evident in the photos that Kerry took after he got the new nose from me to make the spinner are the many subtleties in the overall shape. I used original factory lofts to correct it and surprisingly there were a lot of shape issues to deal with. But essentially the whole front has been modified from the top line through to a smaller spinner diameter, upper lip to intake transition, lower line in side profile. Also all the rad curves are different especially around the opening and the back end. Once Roy has replaced all the surface detail and is happy with it then I am sure you will be pleased you waited. I know I will be as I no longer have a nose in my kit LOL! Anyway keep up the awesome work! It is an impressive kit! Cheers Anthony
