Here's my current 1/1 kit. M48A1 at the USMC Mechanized Museum at Camp Pendleton. Have the power pack on the ground next to it. It's been ground started a couple of time so we know it runs. Have a spare also. Soon as I figure out the problem with the transmission selector linkage we can install it.
Have always had a pleasant and successful experience when dealing with Revell customer service. A lot of companies could use a lesson or two from them.
Wasn't happy with the turret slogans. It was paint pen on a gloss surface. So I removed it and repainted the turret then flat coated it. I reapplied the slogans with a hite Primsacolor pencil then gloss coat for for detail painting and washes. Overall length of turret is right at 2 inches so building a Leopard 2 sounds very appealing right now.
Tamiya gloss black in the rattle can is the best there's out there, and I'm an enamel guy. I've known some modelers to use it to prime for Alcad because their, Alcad, gloss black can at times be a crap shoot.
Finished this thing up. I have posted the WIP link below. Rest is pictures. Any questions, please ask away.
